I hate when Dusty does that. Why let the pitcher hit if you're going to take him out before the start of the inning.

short bench

At least wait until I edit my post before you quote me. :D

LOL, you gotta be quick.

Blanco popped out (foul) to the catcher

On a 3-0 count no less. Who in the heck told him he had a green light to swing???

I think it was actually 3-1.

I heard it from TT the first time. ;-) :-P

Pierre gets on base for what seems like the first time in a year and then gets thrown out stealing 2nd on the very next pitch. :x

you realize the difference between his OBP and a respectable OBP of .350 is about 1 hit every 4 games and 2 walks over the season so far, right?

At least Cedeno will get to bat in front of Walker next inning. I don't think anyone on this forum is surprised that Pierre was stealing, getting cut down is acceptable losses here imo.

Don't tell me that Dusty is going to let Guzman hit and then put in Novoa.

Ok I won't tell you.

Groan.

Okay, someone cue the "ground ball with eyes" monologue from "Bull Durham". :-)

Yeah, I think you said that in the Pierre thread in Baseball Discussions. Doesn't make it any better. Less than .300 OBP is not good.

Stolen base time.

I'm gonna shut up now. That was a bad jump and an unlucky pitch to steal on.

It was a perfect throw and he still almost beat it.

I'd like to see the replay. I thought he might have beaten it.

This outing by Gooz really makes me appreciate what Marshall has done thus far.

Compare to Carlos Zambrano's MLB debut, Gooz's outing looks like an All Star.

Didn't Prior pitch well in his MLB debut?

Doesn't lessen my point however.

He might have. I only saw it once.

Nope, it still sucks, but what you notice isn't the best indicator of performance.

Yep. 10 K's IIRC.
