One for the "who'd a thunk it" file...

Koronka picked up his third win for the Rangers today (8 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 8 SO). He's pitched pretty well for them (3.75 ERA).

So far, that trade for Gremlin 2: TNB is not lot looking too hot, not that any of us thought that losing Koronka was a big deal.

that trade is still in the TBD category.

Wow. I thought for sure he was AAAA material.

He may well be. Time will tell. One things for sure, he's enjoying that ML coin for the time being.

Glendon has gone on rushes like that before (no pun intended). We'll see how long he can keep it up. Cruz was better than that when he first came up, but once the league had seen him a couple of times, he never was able to put up the same numbers.

i don't care what koronka does in the future...any trade that puts bynum on the 25 man roster can immediately be deemed a bad one.

Koronka was not good as a Cub, he was behind multiple other players for a call up, and he may have been out of options too(don't remember). If he does well somewhere else then great for him, but it's not worth kicking yourself over if he has some success.

Huh. Glad to see him doing well. I didn't realize Texas would have him with the big club. Just watching his stuff, it's not all that great. I pictured him as more of a career AAA guy.

Nice job goes out to him for gettin' the job done :)

That trade is not a TBD. Bynum the bum is a joke. The guy can't even hit a fastball. How do you make it to the Majors and consistently not hit a fastball?

Not saying Koronka is going to tear it up for the Rangers, but anything with an arm, will get the better of the deal when Bynum is involved.

I'm glad for him, but this WAS against Tampa Bay, people. Let's hold our judgment for the Yankees, shall we?

If memory serves, Koronka's wife was hot. Not sure if that's relevant.

Well I guess we'll be missing out on shots of her like Wood's wife during the 2003 postseason.

If you weren't convinced before I'm not sure what it will take.

Don't worry though, Bynum will have a hot 5-10 days like Macias did in May 2004(?) and everyone will love him.

This is Texas though. Virtually anybody could pitch for that team.

The better our castoffs (like him and Welly) do, the better it reflects on our system, and the more we should be able to get in trades using AAA pitching in the future. I hope he continues to do well.

I thought the Cubs got Bynum from Oakland didn't they?

Yes

Acquired INF Freddie Bynum from the A's in a three-team trade. Sent LHP John Koronka and a player to be named to Texas in the deal; optioned INF Ryan Theriot to Triple-A Iowa.

By "everyone," I assume you're indicting Dusty and Hendry. Nobody with sense loved Macias.

If you recall back to 2004 or whenever that was there was some mad Macias love going around and it took a couple crappy months for it to die. Maybe we have learned fromour errors but it is fan nature to jump on the bandwgn.
