Damn Cubs fans make it impossible to get a hotel within walking distance. As passionate as our fanbase is, it makes last minute travel arrangements a ......

Luckily, I got one of the few remaining downtown hotel rooms. Millennium, Adam's Mark, Hyatt Regency, as well as other were all sold out.

Oh well, I'm looking forward to going to the Great American Ballpark of the West. :)

Millenium had rooms when I checked a few days ago. They may have sold out since then. Try calling the hotel directly if Orbitz/Expedia/Travelocty says they're booked.

I used to manage a small hotel, and this is exactly what you should do. all those online reservation systems are only alotted a certain percentage of rooms, maybe 25-30% of capacity.

if you get through, ask for the rate, then tell them "I saw it advertised online for less, would you like to make a deal?" chances are they will give it to you for slightly less than you say you saw online.

I'll be there as well, but will be staying with my in-laws. Would anyone like to get together for dinner after the game on Saturday?

At Zoe Pan-Asia in the CWE? I'll be your friendly bartender. But it's not a sports environment, if that's what you're looking for.

It doesn't bother me much, but I couldn't stay long anyways. I'm taking my daughter up there with me to visit her grandparents and they will have had her all day, so I'll want to get back and help them with getting her to bed.

Thankfully, my best friend owns in a loft on St. Charles (@ Washington). I always have a place to stay in the gateway city - free of charge. 8)

We always stay at the Cheshire Inn in Clayton. They have a free shuttle to the games, and there are always a lot of Cub and out of town Card fans that stay there. The Inn bar is a lot of fun after games.

Just a suggestion.

Gateway to the west. But, no other than St. Louis being west of the Mississippi, that's about the only thing west you can call them.

I'll be there for the Friday and Sunday games. I got SRO only tickets for both games, so I'll be roaming around the stadium both days.

I had SRO tickets for Friday, but a wedding got in the way of those plans. I'll be in the bleachers Saturday.

How could going to St Louis make anyone jealous?

I think they mean jealous that other people are going to games but they're not.

I'm going alone on Friday and Sunday, so I picked up a good seat in Section 249 for Friday and 250 for Sunday. My ticket says Redbird club, but I have no clue what that means.

On Saturday, I'll go with my father-in-law (well, not really go with...he has a meeting that morning so we're meeting at the game) and we have seats in the Ozzie Smith Party Room. I'm sure others in the room will love me sporting one of my many Cubs jerseys at that game!

I'm really looking forward to it...but the flight with Addison there and back could get a bit hairy.

Have a great time! Take pictures if you can. I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of the park.

I'll try to remember to take the camera, but in all liklihood with me being an autograph hound, I'll forget it as I try to remember to take other things.

From the looks of the game today, there are plenty of seats available at New Busch. This is horrible for the "best fans of the game". They have a new stadium and they can't sell it out 3 games into its existance. Yet Wrigley is sold out.

They are a sell out. I'm in Springfield on business and thought about skipping out to catch the game. No luck as it was a sellout online. Didn't want to risk it without tickets in hand. I also tried for a bunch of weekend series and no luck there either. Still trying to decide what to do for next weekend's Cubs series.

I think a lot of people are just walking around the park checking it out, making the seats not look as full.

Also a coworker of mine said that if you have SRO tickets; get there early enough and they have folding chairs in some of the standing areas.

A large portion of the upper stands is closed to fans at this point.
