  1. I have 2 bleacher seats for game 2. Is anyone with unobstructed box seats for either game 1 or 2 interested in trading?
  2. 4/9 vs Houston. please.
  3. Adam Dunn is gonna look even hotter in that uniform
  4. I was in the left center field seats, surrounded by Cards fans. I guess at least one of you was happy on the way home. I saw a group of beverage vending machines in a shaded area near the bleachers. That'll be nice not to have to stand in line in the sun for a Coke on those sweltering July days. In the past the alternative was getting one from a vendor after all the ice had melted. The open design of the stadium should be breezier, too. The old Busch could really be an oven in the summer. pics of things they don't show on tv: http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a19/arctura/new%20Busch%20Stadium%2023%20April%202006/P1010001.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a19/arctura/new%20Busch%20Stadium%2023%20April%202006/P1010002.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a19/arctura/new%20Busch%20Stadium%2023%20April%202006/P1010010.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a19/arctura/new%20Busch%20Stadium%2023%20April%202006/P1010017.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a19/arctura/new%20Busch%20Stadium%2023%20April%202006/P1010025.jpg here's the out-of-town scoreboard from the old stadium, the way it was on the last day of the season. Cards fans can gloat for the next 30 years that the Cubs lost the game that day. http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a19/arctura/new%20Busch%20Stadium%2023%20April%202006/P1010034.jpg retired numbers are below the scoreboard. I didn't see anything in honor of Darryl Kile; but maybe there was and I just missed it.
  5. I only went to Sunday's game, and sat in the bleachers. I have always been treated very well by Cardinals fans in STL, and Sunday was no exception. But then again, I've been to 13 other MLB stadiums and I've never been treated badly. A Cubs shirt or hat often gets me preferential treatment outside the NL central. I seem to meet Cubs fans wherever I go. Anyway, I liked the new Busch. There weren't cushions on the seats in the bleachers, but I'm not old enough to want the cushions -- plus there were seatbacks, which is an improvement over the Wrigley bleachers, even the new bleachers. The fans of both teams behaved in my section (avoiding profanities is good enough for me in the bleachers). I talked to a few season ticket holders, all of whom were happy with things. I'll post some pics later, maybe tomorrow.
  6. Don't forget Mike Remlinger vs the La-Z-Boy.
  7. Millenium had rooms when I checked a few days ago. They may have sold out since then. Try calling the hotel directly if Orbitz/Expedia/Travelocty says they're booked.
  8. They also have the wind pick up when the opposing team bats. Len can control the weather with his mind. And the clubhouse showers. Don't doubt the powers of da Len. OMMM How did this thread go from Derrek Lee to Len Kasper?
  9. hey what's up. I didn't leave, but I don't always have much to contribute here.
  10. I'm interested, if it's on a Saturday.
  11. That's for one night, too, but includes taxes. It was one of the pricier rooms. The 2- and 3-person ones are less. Don't forget the price of parking downtown if you're not taking public transit.
  12. Thx Bimi. Sorry for my misinformation above. I just checked the official site and the passes are $10 additional/person this year if you book a room. If you don't have a room, they are $50 again and go on sale Monday Nov 7.
  13. The way I've done it is to reserve a room at the Hilton for Friday night. Depending on what kind of room you get, you get 2 - 4 passes included when you pay for the room. If you have 4 people and the room is $190, then you get a better price than if you bought 4 individual day passes @ $50 each, plus you get the room. The rooms book up around August, and the day passes go on sale the first week of November. If you don't have a room and want one, you might want to call anyway in case they have a cancellation, but you'd be pretty lucky to get in that way.
  14. My grandma paid $2 for a bleacher ticket to the 1959 WS.
  15. Thanks Vance. The person I'm going with wants to know every detail right now. It's nice to know I can put this off for awhile. That's a good idea about the hotel packages; I'll look into that if we don't stay with a friend.
  16. When is the Cubs Spring Training schedule usually published? Also, about what time of year do Ho Ho Kam tickets usually go on sale?
  17. ...while Leo Mazzone rocks back and forth in the dugout.
  18. That could be funny. Or it could be sad. I see it as a little of both.
  19. I think they showed a Royals fan with a frowning bag on his head, like you describe, on SC or BBTN last night.
  20. You know, I'm liking this idea now that I think about it. You could even expand it to include terminology, a base hit=first down, Pitcher gives up a walk=he got sacked, full count=going for it on fourth down, first pitch=kickoff. When I go to bears games, I usually refer to the QB as the pitcher. Last year it went over pretty well.
  21. If you wear the A's shirt, you might be mistaken for a Packers fan by some drunk bleacher bum.
  22. Cubs still suck. But since I'm going to be there, can you please win just one more game??
  23. We're going to have to send you to the minors.
  24. My pleasure!
