Unfortunately I have no posts confirming this, but I knew that Prince wasn't going to jump in and become a star overnight. I think it will take at least most of this season before he truly starts his ascent.

For anyone to expect instant success is silly.

Many perenial All-stars have be sent back down in their first year (I'm not saying he will be or should be).

I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Remember, his team is 2-0.

Prince started real rough in Nashville last year too. Tonight was the first night he actually looked comfortable at the plate. The single and RBI was clutch... he'll find his groove.

FYI, the guy who sits next to me at MP says that he struck out only 17 times last season between AAA and the majors... he's already halfway there.... very tough start. It was cool to see the stadium give him a standing ovation in the eighth inning on Tuesday despite the fact he was 0-for-8 with 7 Ks to that point.

Last year he struck out:

17 times in 59 major league at bats

93 times in 378 AAA at bats

Maybe my math is a bit fuzzy, but by my calculations, Fielder struck out zero times "BETWEEN" AAA and the majors. :D

I stand corrected.

Fielder will be a nice pick up once he gets dropped from all those fantasy teams. Now that he's got that bad week out of the way, he'll soon be facing off against Cincinatti pitching.

Fielder has generally been a slow starter every time he moves up a level.

I think he'll be fine.

His defense has been much better than expected so far. Admittedly, I wasn't expecting much.

Brewers were winning without him. That's sort of disturbing.

The Brewers are on the cusp. They'll be serious division contenders next year, or at the latest the year after.

Prince is a carbon copy of his pappy. The resemblence is uncanny. However, in the days of personal trainer and neutritionists his girth is remarkable.

If they get a legitimate #1/#2 starter to complement Sheets and get a healthy season out of the two of them, they will be pretty darn good.

I remember reading this thread and laughing. Just thought I'd take a trip down not so distant memory lane.

I think he has shown flashes of being a decent player thus far. :D

And hey, both Cubs and Brewers fans gotta be cheering for him to beat out Pujols for the starting job at the All-Star game.
