O.K. I'm done arguing about a game that may not even happen. After Saturday I will be back open for discussion.

Yes, go Bucs!

I want them in the 2nd round matchup at Soldier.

You may get more than you want.

The Bears won in Tampa with Orton at QB. If we play Tampa, it will be in Chicago with Grossman at QB. I like our chances.

The only way the Bears scored was b/c Simms fumbled on the 1. Don't kid yourself into thinking the Bears are great.

I love this thinking. The Bears won because they FORCED the Simms fumble. It's one thing if it's 1 lucky break, but the Bears won 11 games by that same method. I can see using that excuse for losing to Cleveland, but that's the Bears m.o. You can't just assume that next time the Bears won't turn TOs into points, because they've made a habit of doing so.

I understand they forced that turnover. I'm not dumb. What are the odds the Bears can force another turnover that deep in Bucs territory if they play again? Other than that series they couldn't even move the ball. Of course with Grossman playing their chances are alot better. That being said, I'm worried that the Bucs will have a tough time beating the Skins.

I would be worried too if we had to face Washington. They have speed at RB and WR and a good QB. Their defense wasn't at full strength until recently and it's very hard to run on them. They also have a good OL too. It's a team nobody looks forward to face.

For the record, I think Washington has the best chance of beating Seattle if they get that far. The Giants have the best shot at beating the Bears in Round 2, just based on them being the only team the Bears haven't played of the wildcard group.

Ok am I the only Bears fan that is thinking the exact opposite on this? Honestly I would rather play NY based on the fact that the Bears havent played them this year. Beating good teams twice in the same season is not easy in football, even with the game being in Chicago. Also, NY has been TERRIBLE on the road this year, and quite possibly wouldnt even be in the playoffs had it not been for the fact they had an extra home game. I think the Bears D can really tear apart Eli Manning. Just my opinion but Id rather see the Giants then Tampa or Carolina. Dont get me wrong I think the Bears can/will beat any of those teams, but I think NY would be the easiest.

Doesn't Tampa Bay have a really horrible record when playing in cold weather in January ?

Yeah, they barely beat the Eagles en route to their World Championship.

The 'Skins scare me a bit, but luckily we wouldn't have to face them until the championship game. By then, they would either be eliminated or (hopefully) banged up enough for the Bears to take advantage. Seattle and Washington match up the best against the Bears.

I feel the same way. I fear the Bears could lose to Carolina, TB, or Washington, but I have no doubt the Bears would win and win easily against the Giants. That D would force Manning into making some terrible mistakes.

Anyways, I'm gonna throw some predictions out there..

Washington 17

Tampa Bay 21

Jacksonville 27

New England 17

Carolina 28

N.Y. Giants 13

Pittsburgh 34

Cincinnati 38

Indeed. And that one cold weather win broke a streak of how many games / years ?

The team I least want to see in Chicago next Sunday is Tampa. Their defense is a match for ours, and I think the offenses are pretty much similar as well.

I think if NY or Carolina come to Chicago, you'll see a vicious beatdown of those teams, but Tampa could easily come in and beat the Bears.

You guys are probably right. I just worry about Tiki's versatility, and the Giants DE's.

I think the Bears D should kill a QB like Simms. Inexperienced, young, not used to the weather.

I think the same could be said for Manning. His stats on the road this year are terrible, and coming to Chicago, in January, vs a D like the Bears, I think would just eat him alive. Tiki worries me a bit, but I think the Bears could eliminate the passing game of NY and concentrate on Tiki.

I'm rooting for Washington to win in the first round. I really would rather not face the Bucs again, and that would give us an extra day of preparation. Carolina was somewhat fading, in my opinion, down the stretch, and would be my preferred opponent. The Foster/Davis combo would be the easiest to shut down, and force the Panthers into a one-dimensional, Steve Smith-only pass attack.

Seriously, though, of the six NFC playoff teams, there's not one that couldn't beat the Bears -- and not one that the Bears couldn't beat.

That combo is no longer. Davis went on IR a few weeks ago; Foster is now running solo.

Foster has Goings and Jamal Robertson backing him up.

Anyway - Carolina's going to lose. I hate to admit it but the Panthers really aren't that good. Except for the @TB game they haven't played a complete game all year besides against the Falcons. I've got all home teams winning this weekend except for Tampa who I think will lose to the Skins (who have won five in a row and just destroyed Dallas in Week 15).

Washington 27, Tampa Bay 17

New England 24, Jacksonville 9

NY Giants 20, Carolina 13

Same score in the Giants/Panthers game I have. However, I say the Giants get 27 on four TD's, but Feely misses an extra point rather than a 3 TD, 2 FG performance.

Well I say that he gets 2 field goals, but they're both from within 30 yards, and he misses a 37 yarder. No, a 36 yarder. With 5 seconds left in the first half. And a slight crosswind. Left to right.
