Kitna is reliving memories of Akili Smith there on that 3rd and long, where he just scrambling around, fumbling it around.

They are having some real problems snapping.

And some real problems playing defense as well might I add.

Haha, yea, that last play caught them with their proverbial pants down.

Well, I'm happy tonight.

Indianapolis in Indianapolis next weekend.

Yikes.

Also, noting the clock is 0.44am, I may well be late for work tomorrow.

I'm bummed for you, Rocket. I was also rooting for the Bengals and have been looking forward to the game all week.

On the plus side, I've lived in both cities and Big Ben went to my alma mater.

What a horrible break the injury to Palmer was. I think the Bengals would've won with Carson in there, despite the Cincy D not playing too well.

Bengals have to be worried about Palmer now, they gotta hope that he's ready in time for camp next year.

Damn sorry to see that injury to Palmer. He's a fine player.

This is going to a great rivalry for years to come. It'll be nice to have a division rival again now the the Ravens suck and the Browns, well, forget that.

I look forward to the Steelers stomping the Bengals in rivalry games for the next few years.

Bring on the Colts.

Whatever happened to ndi, our resident Panthers fan?

Hey Dav, thanks for remembering me

I watched the game and then came back to college from home. Didn't get a chance to talk about the game.

Panthers looked real good today like they have their running game back in order. Delhomme looked pretty good, the defense was outstanding putting the clamps on one of the best offenses in the league (first home playoff shutout in 26 years). The problem is Rex Grossman isn't as spectacular when he is bad as Eli. The Bears game will be a dogfight, much better than round 1.

I enjoyed the Cedric Wilson touchdown now I've spied the highlights at NFL.com. Important score and a lovely play.

The Panthers did look good, but they played against a Giants team that was really banged up on defense, and they ran right through them. I really don't see a big difference between the Panthers we beat in Week 11, and the Panthers now. If I recall, they were on a 6 game win streak when we beat them, so they had been playing pretty well. They haven't made any real changes personnel wise that I'm aware of, so it's essentially the same team. Meanwhile, the Bears have upgraded at QB, though it's not exactly John Elway we're putting out there. On top of that, we're playing in Chicago, and coming off a bye week which should allow our guys to be healthy. I really see this playing out pretty similarly to the last meeting.

The Panthers ran over a defense with no linebackers, and a thin defensive backfield. I think they'd kill the Bears if Urlacher, Briggs and Hillenmeyer were all out. But that's not the case. I was hoping the Giants could pull the game out with a fluke play or two, because they were in terrible shape coming in.

That win doesn't tell us a thing about whether or not Carolina is different from the team that looked like crap against the Bears earlier in the year. They were facing an 11-5 Giants team, but it wasn't the same Giants team that was so successful earlier in the year.

I think the first round of playoffs just reiterated how thin the NFC was this year. Seattle, Chicago and the Panthers were the best teams, while Carolina's inconsistency in the 2nd half created lots of doubts.

Arguably Washington could be included in that discussion. They finished pretty strong, though they didn't look real sharp against the Bucs.

I think Washington is a fluke team. They finished strong, but they did it by beating some questionable teams, STL and Arizona at their worst, a very mediocre Dallas team that once again received way too much favorable pub before bowing out early, the aforementioned banged up, depleted shell of its former self Giants, and the let's get this joke of a season over with Eagles. That's 3 terrible teams, 1 good team that was already on a steep decline, and a mediocre team. Then they went into Tampa and won thanks to two bad review calls (worst officiating weekend I've seen in the NFL), you need possession with two feet for a TD, once that 2nd foot hits the plays is dead, and Pittman's leg was blatantly laying right across the body of the guy who returned that fumble for a TD. If just that first call was reversed properly I doubt they win the game.

I hope the Skins luck into another win this weekend though, so the Bears can host the NFC Championship game.

There are two big differences between the Week 11 Panthers and the current ones:

1. Useless Stephen Davis is out (completely this time), better DeShaun Foster is in.

2. John Fox is usually better the 2nd time around against a team. (With the one exception of this year's Tampa series.)

And the QB difference tends to be magnified in the postseason. Jake Delhomme is 4-1 in the playoffs with a triple-digit QB rating, and don't forget only one of those 5 games was a home game. This game will NOT play out like it did last time, and if the Bears take that mindset or anything close, Carolina will win.

Foster had the bulk of the carries in that game though...9 carries, 41 yards compared to Davis' 4 for 6. I'm not sure taking out Davis' 4 carries is really a huge impact.

And I doubt the Bears have that mindset, but I do. Delhomme will get rattled by the pressure again, because frankly I don't think the Carolina O-Line can hold off the pass rush.
