One very, very important commit to PSU today - Maryland CB AJ Wallace. He was rated by Rivals as the #1 cornerback in the country and picked PSU over Ohio State. With the entire secondary graduating, he is much needed. Also, the #87 player in the country and #4 DE committed to PSU today. The class is looking very strong now, and if they get one RB they're going after hard and 1-2 OL, this will be one of the strongest classes Paterno has had. Edited by TruffleShuffle

Maurice Evans. They just announced side by side at the Army All-American Bowl.

if they get Sam Young and/or Antonio Logan-El, I'll be more than satisfied.

He is the #3 CB. Darrin Walls is #1, and he commited to ND.

EDIT:Well if you click on each person, it has #1 and #3 switched. Weird, I wonder which way it is?

WR Terrence Austin picked UCLA over Oregon and ND - he's the biggest WR get during Dorrell's tenure. Probably the biggest WR commit to UCLA since Tab Perry or Freddie Mitchell.

LB Allen Bradford picked USC over UCLA, he'll have to convert to S if he wants to play at USC.

I think Young ends up at either USC or ND, but I do think Logan-El will come to PSU. Maryland didn't have much of a year to speak of and is getting blown out by PSU in recruiting this year; it's hard for me to see much of a reason for Logan-El to go to there. I also think that JB Walton, the #4 ranked OG in the country, will likely choose PSU over Nebraska.

Walls was #3 until he picked ND. Upon seeing how he'd made the best possible decision, his ranking was augmented.

That's called the USC/ND/Miami effect.

You're mentioning Freddie Mitchell like that's a good thing? :D

Syracuse has locked up a RB out of the great state of Ohio and he has won the Mr. Ohio title.

I wouldn't be so sure on Young. We've looked like we were out of the running for him on a couple of occasions, but he's taking an official visit to Happy Valley on Jan. 20. Give him some good weather.

Actually he was number one, then dropped to three. Obviously someone forgot the rules.

Yeah, I can't say that I actually looked into it. I just went for the easy joke.

any OL help PSU can get would be great, since 4 of the 5 starters were Sr.'s this year. If Posluszny stays, they have him as a Sr. next year and Connor as a Jr., so the LB situation is solid. OL and DB's are where PSU needs the immediate help. Oh, and DE, as both Hali and Rice are gone

Murray to OU!

Any news on what Gerald McCoy will do? ND is really going after him, and it is down to them and OK from what I read.

Nevermind. McCoy just eliminated ND. Now is OU, USC, or LSU

He was a great player and not too rowdy at UCLA. It's something about Philly, I'm telling you. :P

There is speculation that Poz will be back for his senior year...

By the way, this is great:

Defensive coordinator Tom Bradley said Posluszny asked to receive a pain injection so he could reenter the game, a request the team's medical staff turned down.

What a warrior... suffers a major knee injury and wants them to just throw in some cortisone and get back in the game. Not many guys with a certain NFL career ahead of them would want to do that.

i would actually go to that. ESPECIALLY if they announced it on campus but somehow kept it a secret to the other team. id love to see the other team's reaction when we sent the waterboy over to the other sideline to tell them.

Mitch Mustain, the top rated QB, is interested in ND but there might not be room for him, according to an article in a recent South Bend Tribune.

Wonder if they'd still be out at COs after that the way they are after losing by 50.

If Jones will move from QB, then there will be room. Not very likely, but the only way it will happen, IMO. As long as ND doesn't have to pull a scholarship, I would love to see ND get Mustain.

Rumor is that not only is Mustain leaning heavy toward Arkansas, but he may influence some of his high school teammates that way. TE/LB Ben Cleveland already changed his commitment from Florida to Arkansas, and coaches are to talk with WR Damian Williams soon.

Mustain already commited to Arkansas, then decomitted, after they fired the coach who recruited him, in order to hire his HS coach. This was also after Cutcliffe went to Tennesse, whom Mustain has wanted to play under for some time.
