Out of curiousity, who on the Bulls would you folks be least willing to trade?

I'd post my own thoughts, but they're so biased toward Kirk, I don't think they're even legitimate.

Considering Hinrich is pretty much the face of the franchise, I think I'd lean towards him. I really would love to see Deng, Gordon and Nocioni stick around as well. In that order.

Sports Guy loves Hinrich (actually I think we are his 2nd favorite East team right now, he mentions at least two Bulls in 90 percent of his NBA columns), and I only think he's solid. I wonder if it's because I don't watch enough overall basketball, or if he doesn't watch enough Bulls backetball.

Deng. Almost as productive as Noch was this year, and he's five years younger.

1908, would you give up two of the core, one of the draft picks, and some salary throw in (Chandler is the only one I could think of to make it even close though...) for Kevin Garnett?

Naturally, I'd prefer to keep Gordon if I could net Frye without dealing him. With Isaiah, you never know what is possible ;)

Out of curiosity, what's the incentive for the Knicks in this trade? They're overloaded with guards already, and I suspect Isiah's got his eye on next year's free agent class as well. I could see them accepting Tyson and Gordon for Fyre and Francis (or Crawford). I wouldn't make that deal, would you?

I'd give up one of the core and both of this year's picks. KG is 30 with lots of miles on the odometer. Give up too much to get him and you turn next year's Bulls into this year's Wolves.

You're assuming Isiah thinks rationally. Why would Isiah have his eye on next year's FA class? He's losing two big contracts but is still a load over the cap.

Isiah falls in love with a guy and overpays for him every time. I cannot think of one decent (read rational) trade he has made during his tenure in NY. Why would I think the pattern would change?

Because there are restricted FA stars to be had and his budget is almost unlimited.

I think he's in love with Fyre and it would take a superstar in return to get him. KG, Pierce, etc.

From today's paper:

Sun-Times[/url]"]During the same week in which he's selling the physical lift of his new energy drink, Ben Gordon got a mental lift from Bulls general manager John Paxson.

Paxson called Gordon's agent to put to rest an item in Monday's New York Post that said the Knicks recently had made "a serious inquiry'' into whether Gordon was available in a trade. Paxson called the report a "total fabrication'' and said he had not talked with the Knicks since last October.

"Paxson swept everything under the rug, so I'm confident that I'll be here,'' Gordon said Wednesday. "I don't want to get traded, and all the rumors bother me sometimes. But Paxson aired it out and said nothing of that nature was going to happen.

"When I heard it, it didn't really make much sense to me. It's the NBA, so you never know what will happen. There's nothing I can really do about it. But like I've said before, this is where I want to play for the rest my career. Hopefully, everything will work out that way.''

I'd really love to keep him, he's got tons of potential, and while he'll never be Jordan, he may yet be a superstar.

I really love how there is nodody on the Bulls that I dislike. They are all swell guys.

I like Paxson's comments about the reported Gordon "trade" more and more. From Peter Vecsey's 5/20 column. The last paragraph is perfect. The Bulls are in good hands.

The latest make-believe ballroom blather claimed the Bulls had discussed a trade involving Mt. Vernon's Ben Gordon.

"Absolutely bogus!" John Paxson huffed by e-mail. "What bothers me most is the story specifically states it's been learned talks took place.

"Nothing could be further from the truth," underlined the Bulls GM, whose team owns the Knicks' first-round selection (Edwina Curry) this June, and the right to swap firsts the following draft. "I haven't spoken to anyone in that front office since last October on any trade matter."

"I found it funny the story said we were considering one of New York's elite guards. Who the hell would that be? What a joke! I like Gordon better than all of them, and he plays at a price for the next two years that makes him a bargain compared to them."

The Bulls are everything the Cubs aren't - well-run, with a solid plan in place, an intelligent GM and coach at the helm, and a good system with which to develop young players.

I can't wait for next season.

8 years later:

-Well run? Meh, to some degree

-Solid plan in place? Maybe

-Intelligent GM? Different GM now, might be intelligent but certainly doesn't connect well with coaching staff/players

-Intelligent coach? Different coach now, this coach is better than Skiles

-Good system to develop young players? Still applies, but now we're talking about mid-to-late round guys instead of lottery picks

Feeling really good about the 2008 draft, you guys.

Is LeBron a free agent in 2010? We should get that guy.

Kirk was the face of the organization at some point. Those were the days.

So what happened to the 2014 board?

seems silly to project this team 8 years out
