i'm not saying that thomas would be the answer to our prayers as bulls fans--i'm saying that it would be better for the bulls if their coach could get along with anyone.

That wasn't your original point. You were bagging on Skiles because the Bulls got rid of Thomas, and I'm saying the Bulls are a better team without him because they have two significantly better players at the 3.

Sure, Thomas doesn't really fit in at the 4, but I'd rather have him there than Malik Allen.

I wouldn't. Their production is almost identical over the past couple of years and Thomas is undersized for the 4. He's also a poor defender in the paint and he prefers to play away from the basket. Just a bad fit all around for the Bulls.

:-s Thomas is 6' 10''.

He's a poor rebounder and defender sure, but the Bulls are in desperate need of a presence in the paint to take the pressure off the guards. You can't deny that Thomas will get more defensive attention than Allen. He's not a Scott Skiles player, but sometimes a coach just has to compromise in order to field the best possible team. Chemistry is important, but not more so than talent.

And he weighs 240 and plays like he weighs 220. Allen weighs 255. That's what I meant by undersized.

Thomas is not a post presence. He might get more defensive attention than Allen, but that's because of his three-point range.

Are we seriously arguing about Tim Thomas? Tim Thomas is trash and his impact on the team would have been negligible.

You'll get no argument from me on that.

I agree...

If the Bulls had a legitimate inside (not Tim Thomas but, someone who the Heat would take seriously) threat they'd be leading the series maybe, even up 3-0.

Or if Sulley was the coach instead of Skiles.

That way all of our players wouldn't hate the coach.

I got three 15 dollar tickets to Game 6 and won't be able to go if it occurs - and after last night I'm even more annoyed by that.

SELL THEM TO ME.

Not kidding.

$20 tickets through my dorm for Sunday but I don't think I can make it. I'm pretty swamped with finalizing my senior thesis, doing a project, and then doing a takehome midterm. Bah.

Sometimes, you disappoint me.

Sometimes!?

At least I've never made this face before:

LeBron James is good at basketball.

That was one hell of a shot he hit to win the game tonight. A game the Cavs had to have.

Haha - they're already promised to my three buddies from home in the event Game 6 occurs, otherwise I would've posted a thread to sell them some time ago.

And all James had to do was take 4.5 steps to make the shot. Officiating for star players in the NBA is crawling ever closer to WWE levels...

There's not a player in the NBA they'd call a travel on in that situation.

Maybe not a star player, but if it were Smush Parker or some other scrub takign a jump stop, and then 2 extra steps in the lane I'd bet they'd call it.

I didn't see that. His pivot foot slid, but he jump stopped and ducked under with a pivot. Didn't seem that outrageous to me.

He jumped stopped outside the lane, and ended up inside the circle. He used his right foot as a pivot foot, took an extra step and then one more half step. Even my sports hating, sports clueless wife was shocked at the amount of steps he took.

Does anyone else just really, really really like the Bulls. I can't help but root for this motley crew (crue? haha) of undersized stubborn players. We got characters on our team, people with personality. There is something that really distuingishes them (to me at least) from the rest of the faceless NBA.

They are just so likable.

If not for ND basketball this season, the Bulls would be the most lovable team I've ever followed. I've said it before, but you can probably count on one hand the number of games they've been behind by 15 or more in the 3rd and failed to come back and fight the game to the end this season.
