I'd be afraid if I were an Astros fan. 2003 it was us. Last year it was the Yankees. I feel it's the Astros turn to choke away the chance at a World Series.

Well, it was them last year, too. Although I guess they were never up 3-1, but they still came back to Busch up 3-2.

Yeah, but they showed they had no chance of winning at Busch last year. It was inevitable that they were going to lose in 7 last year.

I don't know who will win the game tonight, but with Oswalt and Clemens going for the Astros, I like their chances for advancing.

I liked our chances with 2003 Prior and Wood going too...

Oswalt's ERA against the Cards this year was over 5. Mulder's ERA against Houston this year was in the 2's. I'm not sure, but I think that St. Louis did pretty well against Clemens too.

It's looking good for the Cards.

yep i have to say the Cards are going to win this one. Everything seems to be in their favor. Now tomorrow's game (if there will be one) might be a bit of a different story with Clemens on the mound.

Easy first inning for Mulder.

Man I feel so wrong for rooting for the Cards.

its hard to root for either of these 2 teams. Next year, we better be playing the Cards in the NLCS.

Garner really screwed up having Clemens-Oswalt-Lidge available for Game 7 by having Clemens try to pitch through trouble in (I think) the 6th inning and failing.

More terrible umpiring by Greg Gibson at second base on Yadier Molina.

This is among the most inept I've ever seen umpries. Throughout the postseason, it has been dreadful and has no end in sight.

Well, now we get to listen to the Cards"greatest fans in baseball" whine and cry about the umpires screwing them over being the reason they lose. If left field wasnt so short then Lanes home run wouldnt have been a home run...what a joke of a park   GO STROS!!!

That was an awful call. The league needs to find better umpires for the playoffs.

Can anyone explain how a squeeze bunt is an "aggressive play?" To me its very very conservative to play for one run instead of trying to break the game open.

It's agressive because you're taking a chance. You miss that bunt, and the runner is dead meat.

now that brenly is in the booth anyway. dusty is right up there too. leadoff hitter on and you go for one instead of going for the throat. apparently game five taught garner nothing.
