Albert's such an arogant jerk. He walked to first.

I cried when I saw Andy go "Oh my gosh."

Andy got to celebrate his pennant after Game 4, and after Berkman's home run last night.

I don't feel sorry for any of them.

Did you see the Cardinals' reaction after the game last night? No celebrating. They simply shook hands and headed for the clubhouse. They know that they still have work to do, unlike the Astros after Game 4. That's why the Cards are the best team in baseball.

I don't think the best team has yet been decided. At least not for this year.

The Cards were the best team in the league this year. The playoffs decides who gets the championship, but it doesn't change the fact that STL was dominant for the regular season.

Agreed. The champions aren't always the best team in baseball that year.

Sports would be boring if the best team always won.

That's why you have playoffs. As it's seeded, the best team has the easiest road to the championship series. If they really are the best then they should be able to get there.

Not taking anything away from Pujols greatness but, isn't about time he comes clean with his age? 25 with that receding hairline? I'm not suggesting he's 40+ but, he maybe closer to 35 than 25.

Hey, don't be dissing the bald guy !! My hairline was receding before I got out of high school.

No offense, he just doesn't look like he's 25...

I thought he was discovered by a scout when he was still in highschool though.

My brother's hairline started receding when he was 21... now he just shaves his head at 25.

I have about 4 grey hairs on my right sideburn. And I'm 24.

The thing that keeps my eyebrows raised (If ya smelllll....) is the fact he was was born in the Domican Republic, and yet I haven't heard one time he has gone back to his home country. Sammy, Pedro, Moises, Papi, etc, etc...always seems able to get back home, but not Albert. Now unless I am wrong, I think he doesn't leave the states, cause that would require a background check on his passport (if he has one), and with the crackdown on "phony" passports, you know.......I think Pujols is actually closer to 35, then he is 25....he just won't "risk" leaving the stats.

But...until the age is "verified" (come on....he ain't 25) people will take it at his word. But IMO, he is the greatest hitter to ever lied about his age.

Two things:

One, Pujols came to the USA when he was 16 and went to high school in the US, not at 9, 10, or 12 like most of the kids who fake their age so that they can dominate in little league. If he has faked his age it doesn't fit into the normal pattern.

Two: He went to the Domincan this past offseason. His charitable foundation is active in the domincan.

Personally, I don't think he looks older than 25. His face looks a lot more youthful when he shaves and he isn't playing with stubble or a goatee. I think mostly what makes him seem older is the way he carries himself and what a mature presence he has. Some people just seem older than they are because of the way they act. And by the way I know 23 year olds with receeding hairlines and thinning hair.

I've also heard steroids and HGH can cause hair loss.

I'm just kidding here. I'm not trying to say Pujols is on the juice.

Ryne Sandberg, anyone?

This is ridiculous.

Except Ryno didn't lose his hair until he was 40. Are you suggesting Pujols is 40?

Also, as has been pointed out, his whole family moved here almost 15 yrs. ago. Unlike the others you mentioned, he doesn't have family to go back to visit. But as vaball pointed out, he's been there through his charity in the offseason.

MATT WILLIAMS. As a child I was terrified when I first saw him taking off his hat. I almost became a Robby Thompson fan after that.

I'm not "suggesting" anything. No need to try to read between any lines. It's ridiculous, and that's what I said.

Then why read between the lines of my comment. I never said Pujols took anything, I've just said that steroids and HGH cause hair loss. Isn't that true?

What anyone may infer from those statements is up to them.

How the heck did this game thread become about Pujols, losing hair at an early age, and steroids?

Things evolve.

No way. That's not what President Bush tells me...

President Bush likely can't spell "evolution",much less explain it.

I don't believe he's come across a word what that many syllables amongst his coloring book exercises.

If the Astros don't win tonight, they won't win tomorrow.

Do you think they should be throwing Clemens tonight and saving Oswalt for tomorrow if needed?

No, they should have Oswalt go today. He gives them their best chance to win, especially on regular rest.

But I agree that if the Astros lose today, they're done.
