Yeah. Lets shut Wood down.

ALRIGHT NEIFI!! :o

Yep, the end of this lost season is far more important than the rest of Wood's career.

especially if he's throwing "wicked sliders". That's gotta be good for the shoulder.

Too bad Kerry isn't going to be in next inning. One of the Cards sure could use a 99 MPH fastball in the back.

I never thought I could hate Tavarez more than I did when he was with the Cubs, but I do.

Bean someone.

One of the more pleasant surprises this season has been the offensive development of Michael Barrett. He's nearly matched his walk output from the entirety of last year, and this from a guy who got off to a rough start in April and only drew only 10 walks in the first three months of the season. It's like he made a concentated effort to be more patient at the plate. I doubt this came at the behest of Dusty or the coaching staff.

... and he's really been on fire the last week !!

Okay, so that's twice in 2 days a Cub has been drilled intentionally.

If the Cards think it's a good idea to fire up an inconsistent, sleepwalking team that still has talent, knock themselves out.

And we'd better retaliate in the 9th. I was shocked Z didn't hit anyone today...

Michael was pretty good last year too - tired out a bit toward the end of the season. He'd been on Jim Hendry's wish list for a couple of years before he became a Cub.

They were certainly "wicked." He looked extremely nasty. Which is the exact reason the Cubs need him to get healthy and return to the rotation.

I'll be pretty pissed off if the Cubs dont hit anyone. Someone said it yesterday, that in 2003 in the four out of five series, we kicked the Cardinals around. We need to do that again here. A good beaning will show the Cubs arent taking s*** from anyone.

That's my point. If he's still trying to throw that pitch with a "frayed labrum" he's crazy. Just because its only one inning doesn't mean that he can throw whatever he wants out there.

Pie, forgive some of our more...pointed...posters. I'm sure you understand their frustration/anxiety.

Thanks. To my (pleasant) surprise, I met some ... dare I say -- *GASP -- *"cool" .. Cub fans yesterday? :P

Really, the reason I came here yesterday was to get a prespective on the game from the your guys' view. It's unique. Plus, the Cardinals board I usually frequent (Cards Talk of STLToday) was going haywire.

It was entertaining yesterday so I came back. Has been today, too. Like I said yesterday, those no reason Cub and Cards fans can't get along, even while having a rivalry. This isn't the Yankees and the Red Sox.

Nah, save it for tomorrow. We need to shut the door on this game first.
