Man. Two pitchers who like to swing the bat, too.

Cards are 73-42

Cubbies are 55-60

Cards are in a one game losing streak, and haven't won a single baseball game for over 30 hours.

Cubbies are in a one game winning streak and haven't lost even one game in more than a day.

:)

Go Cubs!

No Vance "I like winning. Let's do it again" or one of Roast's ingenious philosophies yet?

Sorry to dissapoint you. I just got home from the fair.

I think, today, we should try to score more runs than the other team.

Brian.... yes, indeed he did. If you'll look back up to the original post, under the heading "Zambrano's last five starts.....", you'll find that the 4th line stat shown is Zambrano's other start against St. Louis on 22 July 05.

Stats I found interesting...

CUBS are 29-32 in the day time.

We play most of our games during the day. You figure this would be an advantage for us?

CUBS are 33-15 when they score first,.... 22-45 when they don't

CUBS are 16-5 when they score in the first inning,... 39-55 when they don't

CUBS have been outscored 61-39 in the first inning..... outscored 44-37 in the 9th

...can't say I'm thrilled with Nomar being on the bench. Otherwise, it's pretty good.

Just as long as we win.

*whew* I was worried that yesterday's game would lead to Dusty plugging Macias and Perez in the one and two holes.

What I find hilarious is that we have an over .500 record in both one-run and two-run games. That's pretty funny.

Marquis is pitching horrible and seems to be on the hot seat in the rotation. Should be an easy win for the Cubs but who knows

Every struggling pitcher seems to turn it around against the Cubs. We can't seem to beat rookies or struggling veterans. So this one is up in the air.

I like the line up today with the exception of Perez over Nomar. I don't care how many hits he had yesterday, he doesn't belong in the starting line up. But with the wet, muddy field, I see Baker's logic.
