  1. I choose the worst teams to root for: - Cubs - IU basketball - Northwestern Football - Pacers ... dont get me started, its too soon. - Colts
  2. I havent posted in a long long time, but I honestly laughed out loud reading this thread.
  3. going to get flamed, but I think the cubs got fleeced...again. Yes, corey has struggled and was one of his greatest haters on this board (well, actually, i never bood him in person), but he had done things at the major league level while these two scrubs are likely to never do anything at the MLB level. Worthless trade. Probably caps off one of the worst offseasons in recent memory.
  4. Nicholls State won 54-0 yesterday. Not that it means anything, but they are not as bad a team as some would suggest. Probably better than Kentucky. Blake Powers looked awesome. Taylor looked awesome. The crowd was awesome. Indiana football still isnt a big deal, but Coach Hep is definately taking this team and program in the right direction.
  5. I think its just one of those things where a NL pitcher "fools" the AL pitchers cause they have never seen him before. Yah, im calling it a fluke.
  6. wow. You obviously have no clue what you are talking about.
  7. Tim Kurjch....whatever...said on BT that they only have 3 everyday players on their roster. That is absolutely mind boggeling. Even with a couple signings, they still are in deep trouble. Just curious, but could MLB cut a team if they felt the owners were seriously not trying to win?
  8. Derwood, slight mistake. You have Pit beating Pit instead of Phi.
  9. Very nice, indeed. And, guys, please, remember appropriate game thread etiquette. We're getting close to crossing the line. for "damn" and "dammit"...wow, how countryclubish.
  10. ESPN announcers say they got word from the dugout that Nomar had re-injured himself. He wasn't overly limping, but you could see him talking to Dusty and then he grabbed all of his bats and walked to the clubhouse. WOW! So its his groin again? Oh well, I dont think he wouldve been around next year anyway. Lets just save money and not try to bring him back.
  11. ok...what? Nomar is really hurt? Someone please clear this up! Did this happen during the game or what?
  12. How are those two runs earned? Because of the fielders choice at 2nd?
  13. Just as I go away, Z hits a homerun. Damn. Wouldve loved to see Oswalt's face. :)
  14. See, I think this really is a situation where you would sit Corey. 0-4 nights do nothing to help confidence which I believe is his main issue right now. Patterson has dominated Oswalt in his career. Really? Oops then.
  15. See, I think this really is a situation where you would sit Corey. 0-4 nights do nothing to help confidence which I believe is his main issue right now.
  16. 25 strikes against 11 balls for Oswalt. He's starting to look pretty dominant, so we better get some runs while hes not completely settled in.
  17. Nice DLee! Lets get the avg back up to .360!
  18. Dante Hall is awesome... wow, yah, i agree. Holy crap.
  19. I said I'd get fired up when he hit one to the warning track. :) How far did it go? Smacked off about the bottom of the top third of the foul pole. It is minute maid park :D
  20. *raises hand* The only person who I thought had less power was Augie Ojeda (remember him?)...well, not quite. Maybe a slight exaggeration.
  21. Looking like a good prediction so far. :P
  22. Palmeiro easily. Why? - Palmeiro never really did anything special in the first place. Quiety went about his way to 500. Mac, on the other hand, had one of the most magical seasons in sports history. He and Sammy combined to get baseball out of the doldrums from the 94 strike. Everyone remembers 98. - Palmeiro veamently denied (pointed finger) doing steroids. Mac didnt. Yah, he basically did admit, but the fact is, that he didnt admit or deny. Palmeiro flat out denied and lied. - Mac's a more likeable guy anyway. - A lot of the stuff Mac did at the time was legal. Palmeiro used a high-end steroid used by sprinter Ben Johnson. - Mac has more homeruns - biggest stat in the book, hits dont even come close.
