I hope he flipped Baker right before he left. I can;t say that I blame him. This is Bakers doing.

Give a break, we can't blame Baker for everything. Zambrano losing his temper and refusing to go back out is his own problem. Aramis committed a huge error which lead to 2 runs then Carlos' own lack of control coupled with poor defense behind him lead to 2 additional runs. Good pitchers are able to get out of jams despite the defense.

The papers are going to BLAST Zambrnao for this. Credit ESPN's camera's for being Johnny on the spot!

I wasn't paying much attention to when he left the field (or the game), but why do most people think he took himself out? He's thrown a lot of pitches and had to leave his last start because the pain in his toe was just too much.

Then again, if he did, good for Carlos. I'm currently considering ways in which I can destroy my tickets to Sunday's game.

I don't have cable. What happened?

Hard to tell. Z went to the clubhouse, and there appreared to be some confusion in the dugout. The Weurtz got up in the pen.

z walked into the dugout shaking his head. rothschild came up to him, but z did the finger across the throat thing and walked right past him to the clubhouse. rothschild followed him for a second with a confused look on his face before turning around.

The players have lost repect for anyone on the coaching staff.

I'd make his butt go right back out there. Zambrano doesn't dictate crap!

That's a Pippen move.

it's most likely they took Z out of the game.

THose were some grueling innings. Sometimes 80 pitches isn't just 80 pitches.

They did not take him out. Did you see him give Rothschild the done sign? Larry looked at him incredulously as Zambrano stompped to the clubhouse! He left on his own and as he was walking away, Larry went to tell Dusty. BS!!!! I've just lost a lot of respect for Carlos.

Well, this should prove to be interesting then eh?

If Zambrano really did just decide he was done for the night, I don't care if it's Martha Stewart managing the team, NO PLAYER CAN ACT THAT WAY AND GET AWAY WITH IT - NO MATTER HOW FRUSTRATED HE IS!

That said - maybe Carlos believes that if Hendry isn't going to get rid of Dusty Baker, then he can pull a "Farnsworth" or "Sosa" and get himself shipped off next season so he can play for a REAL team.

Interesting.

Of course, he was close to being done anyways and he didn't have it tonight.

Good for Carlos. I woulden't play for the Cubs with that outfield behind me.

I dont know why any free agents would even come to Chicago. The manager is dumb, the pitching staff is overrated, and the defense is wicked bad.

It did look a little odd when carlos left. But, if carlos took himself out that's fine with me. Already thrown over 80 pitches, no point of him going out there again.

Personally I wouldn't pay $0.01 to go to any Cubs games this year - I wouldn't help fund them for anything.

I hope Carlos refuses to play for Dusty Baker again. That would make for a hell of a predicament for the front office. Keep your young incredible arm or keep your pathetic manager....oh wait that isn't a big predicament. Get rid of this sorry manager.

If Prior does it oo I'm sure that will be the end of Baker.

Cut off man cut off man cut off man cut off man........holy crap Dusty Baker should be screaming at his players because they don't play fundamentally. But no this idiot allows them to do whatever they want and now Lawton figures he'll do the same garbage cause Dusty doesn't care. My high school team could have beaten the Cubs if we were able to hit the pitching. The only difference between the Cubs and the high school teams are that they Cubs can hit a 95 mph and the Cubs can throw a 95 mph. This team is pathetic

I wouldnt go so far as to say Lawton's defensive lapse is due to Dusty. Lawton has never been a good defensive player. The Cubs knew what they were getting into when they picked him up.

Unfortunately, the Lawton trade is looking more and more like a mistake. Lawton is unlikely to be a Cub in 2006, while Gerut would have been a nice player to have next year, especially as a fourth outfielder and a left-handed bat off of the bench (even with his arbitration increased salary). The only bright side to all of this is the possibility that Lawton nets us a compensatory draft pick as a free agent.

I've been saying that and only have been criticized when I have pointed that out. Not that Lawton is a bad player it's just that he wont make a difference.

It isn't professional, but I would thoroughly enjoy open revolt by the team right now.

good im happy what Z did. The lineup tonight was an absolute joke and there's no way this team is coming back down 4 runs. Hopefully an 0-6 record in NY this year will be the beginning of the end of the Dusty Baker era.

I'm not giving breaks to anybody. Dusty is a lousy manager and it shows. NOBODY wants to play for him besides Neifi, Macias and Holla. He needs to go.
