Yeah, I have to say that I've pretty much given up on the season. However, whenever my favorite crazy Venezuelan is involved, there's always the possibility that something memorable is going to happen. Of course, with Joe Morgan involved, the mute button looks awfully tempting. Here are the matchups..

Carlos Zambrano

http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/407296.jpg

8-4

3.24 ERA

Profile: Likes screaming, swearing, attempting to injury his body in any way, shape or form, long walks on the beach, heavy sinker balls, sliders, and KEELING ZEE COMPETEESHUN! He dislikes Jim Edmonds, Alex Cora, blind umpires, and basically anyone who gets him mad.

vs.

Victor Zambrano

http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/406913.jpg

5-9

4.19 ERA

Profile: Has some filthy stuff, but has always had control problems galore. He is prone to walk and hit a lot of batters coupled with wild pitch issues. He'll forever be remembered for being traded in exchange for uber-prospect LHP Scott Kazmir. Patience is a virtue when it comes to this guy.

Any number of things could happen tomorrow, but here's hoping for a Cubs' victory!

Just a quick poll question, between the two Zambranos, which one is the evil twin: Victor or Carlos?

Victor, duh.

I actually, want them to lose to make the chance of Baker getting fired greater. .500 for 2 straight seasons my ***.. anyone with comman sense could've taken that roster in 2003 and 2004 to a .500 record. Dusty just came when the Tribune started spending.

I have made an observation over the past few days:

The cubs are not very good at baseball.

You should write a book.

Will it include a foreword by Holla, Macias, and Neifi???

Here's a little nugget from our favorite Cub's beat writer, Bruce Miles.

Right fielder Jeromy Burnitz has endured a cold road trip. With an 0-for-4 day Saturday, he’s 2-for-20 on the road trip. His batting average has fallen to .263, and he hasn’t homered since July 23 at St. Louis.

This is something that I've been harping on all year. Why does Dusty insist on playing Burnitz every single game. I understand he's the starting right fielder, but I think it would benefit both the team and Burnitz if got an occasional day off. He's not exactly a spring chicken anymore, trotting him out there 155 games this season is foolish. Besides, he's not that good anyway. He's numbers have been average. Here's hoping to seeing Burnitz get a day off today or at least within the next few days. Ah, who am I kidding.

This is compounded by the fact that Murton could use some starts. Lawton could be shifted to right and Murton could start in left. Giving rest to Burnitz and sitting Macias from time to time would more than allow plenty of starts for Murton. For some reason Dusty is either too ignorant or stubborn to see this.

Here's to hoping Dusty has a brainfart tonight and posts this starting lineup;

CF Lawton

2B Walker

1B Lee

3B Ramirez

LF Murton

RF Burnitz -- not putting in Hollandsworth to give Burny time off

SS Nomar

C Blanco

P Zambrano

Anyone feeling a win? We're only 5 GB and just think, Houston loses 2 straight, Cubs win 2 straight.. and we can be only 3 GB..

Had you asked this before the game on Friday, I'd have said, "sure, why not?". But now, even if we do win tonight, most likey HOU won't get swept by the SFG (Clemens pitching today), so at best, we'll still be 5 back after all the games are over tonight.

Here is the question of the day:

Which one is the evil Zambrano, and which is the good?

Here's the line-up I'd like to see:

Lawton RF

Murton LF

Lee 1B

Burnitz CF

Ramirez 3B

Walker 2B

Garciaparra SS

Barrett C

There's absolutely no chance of that happening, but that would be my line-up.

I like it, but why is Walker before Nomar?

Right now, Walker is a better hitter.
