Why did Greenberg have to get hit in the head?

I haven't heard about him for awhile. Does anyone know how he's doing?

Since he's a rookie, Dusty's probably hiding him in his basement.

As if this lineup would be any different had Greenberg not gotten hit in the head.

Exactly. Also, why did we trade Jason Dubois for a guy who can't beat Macias into the starting lineup? Why have Gerut on this team and talk about how he has the ability to play CF if he's going to just sit on the bench and watch crappy Macias play in front of him? This organization (mostly Dusty) really infuriates me sometimes.

I really, seriously, am blown away by this lineup-WTF is going on in Baker's mind? It is staggering really- Why can't Walker leadoff again, Oh I forgot -no speed,

Why is Macias playing CF(or playing at all)?

Does Baker even know who his players are on his team-has he seen Burny's FP in CF?

I just don't get it-it has begun to make me laugh-Hendry needs to do something about this because this guy is going to run both of them out of town-

Not only that, Hendry needs to address this immediately, or really soon, or the Cubs future could be in jeporady. I would hate to see all that wonderful young talent sitting on the bench in favor of some players who don't belong in any MLB rosters (Except probably Tampa Bay's)

Murton is 12 for 26 since being called up with a .531 OBP. I'm glad he's sitting on the bench for Holla who's hitting .220 in July. By the way, Holla's OBP is slowing reaching that sub-.300 level. He's at .309 right now. Yeah, that's our starting LF. :wall:

Baker' blind loyalty to "proven veterans" is staggering; Murton may or may not be the answer. But Hollandsworth lifetime 3-28 vs. Tomko is pretty good indicator as to what is not the answer in LF today. Why not try Murton or even Gerut in LF (who, by the way, has had some success vs. Tomko)?

The thing is, I bet when Hendry made that trade, Dusty acted all excited. Then when Gerut showed up and Dusty realized how young he was, he started ignoring him and hasn't stopped since.

Edit: I'm not saying Gerut is actually young (he's 27), but that he appears young, and that's enough for Dusty.

Macias leading off?? Seriously??

Does Dusty even have a clue what the little numbers under the guys name on the back of his baseball card are there for?

Speaking of not knowing what things are there for...How bout Gerut??...if Hairston is hurt and can't go wouldn't it make sense to put out a good fielding solid obp guy? Does dusty think that just because we traded Dubois to get him that now he's got to treat Gerut just like Dubois?

WTF does Murton have to do to play on consecutive days? Hit .240 and get on base at a .245 clip?

Is there a rule we can't have our two best hitters next to each other in the batting order? What am I missing....

I'm starting to understand why everyone calls Dusty a "players" manager...he makes players happy...they just happen to be the other teams players.

off topic rule question...the guy in the cube next to me has the sox game on and Everett (DH) just got tossed. Do they lose the dh now?

I don't think so. I think they only lose the DH if the person who was the DH is brought in to play a position on the field. I'm not positive though.
