I got lucky that I'm on Fall Break. Now, my cats will still horsefeathers with me at 5am: that's going to happen. But I can always ball out with a with a nap.

Are they really not activating Steele for today?  I thought with this game being (almost) meaningless that was a slam dunk

Was there an obvious 40 man move they could have made without impacting any playoff roster possibilities?

Me too. And it made a lot of sense. I would think you could have used him for 2 or 3 innings and then worked the pen. Fill multiple innings with guys not on the playoff roster. Looks to me, if they start Imanaga and he goes 75 pitches, they don’t plan on him for the WC series. And I don’t see how he pitches against the Brewers either.

"Didn't know how many innings he'd provide" was the comment by the team. 

Considering how long they've waited, who they called up instead (Garrett) and how mediocre the velocity has been, I read this as "We're not confident it'd go well for Justin right now and we'd rather not have it go badly for him after all he's done to get back".

Yea, grab your coffee, even the blackhawks season opener on Tuesday starts at 930.

MLB has announced wild card series game times. 

Cubs-Padres will play at 9 p.m. CT on Peacock/NBCSN for both Games 1 and 2 on Tuesday and Wednesday.

If Game 3 is necessary Thursday, game time will dependent on how many other WC games are played that day.

I meant done pitching in anything meaningful, 2nd Tommy John, drop in velocity, maybe, something good happens in the off season.  Head winds sure aren't promising.

I don’t disagree. But if they pitched him to eat innings as a starting pitcher, today, then he won’t be in the WS roster. Maybe just going 1 or 2 he could be used Wednesday or Thursday for an inning or two.

Itll probably be between 6-7 mil, they're going to need pitching and depth so if they feel he'll be healthy and ready once ST starts, theyll definitely bring him back.
