In a way, I don’t feel so bad because so much had to go wrong for us to lose that game that I’m like, well that much bad luck can’t happen again. We got it all out of our system early.

On the other hand, there’s Matt Eberflus’s coaching tenure.

They’re not going to be playing in pouring rain where it’s impossible to grip and run routes, they won’t squander 2 scoring opportunities at the 2 yard line either. This game doesn’t really concern me long term, besides that pesky injury thing.

…. the conditions were borderline unplayable. The Vikings did nothing offensively either. It was a mess. I’m sorry to rain (lol) on anyone’s parade but I just don’t see any major conclusions to draw from this one. Other than hoping against hope Caleb is back as soon as possible. 

The pre-snap penalties are the only thing I'm really concerned about from a coaching standpoint.  Those have been terrible 2 weeks in a row.  Now, maybe that's a repetition thing because it's a complicated offense and there are a decent number of new players and nobody plays in preseason anymore, but that stuff has to get better, especially with Caleb being down and the margin for error being even smaller.

Bagent can process and make all the reads this isn't a problem, the issues are his weak arm and he's not much of a scrambler.  The offense can still be effective with Bagent, not as explosive but, they'll still score a decent amount of points.

Ben has a press conference scheduled at 3 but I’ve still been checking socials like a madman for no reason. Caleb has gotta be one of the most overly criticized players I’ve ever seen. He can’t even get injured without catching strays.

surely the "not ruling him out" is gamesmanship. If they rush him back and he gets hurt worse, the season is over. Give Bagent a gameplan that suits him, get Caleb to 100% and get back on track in week 4. Or, since they've got the Jets in week 4, let Caleb come back against the Packers in week 5.

If it's not serious enough that they think he could play the next game, there's going to be a lot of people questioning why he couldn't have gutted through the pain to finish the game, and why he acted like he was shot and dying.
