Philly is so hot right now I don’t want anything to do with them.

Mostly because they have actual starters

We should just drop to WC3.  I'd rather play a road series in Atlanta's soulless suburban stadium than a road series against Philly

I tend to agree with that - plus, besides Sale, their other pitchers can be hit much easier than Phillies Starters

They'll probably be eliminated from playoff contention by the time they get to Wrigley Field.  Nevertheless, if they're not, it would great if the Cubs were the team officially eliminating the Marlins.

Only difference is, a) The Braves are right behind the Dodgers for the 2nd bye, so you could end up facing the Dodgers in a best of 3 and b) if the Dodgers get the 2nd bye and you happen to get past the WC round you are facing them in the LDS instead of Milwaukee.  Not sure which one I'd rather face though to be honest.  I still think Milwaukee is the worse of the 2 teams, but the thought of losing to them again is not fun (though if we played them and beat them it would be incredibly fun so there's risk/reward)

Watching the Astros and Diamondbacks, Cam Smith is not good.  He's young so, there's room for improvement, wonder if he wouldn't benefit from some more time in the minors.

Palencia still looks terrible. 96 down the middle on his last pitch

Since coming off the IL, his line is: 5 1/3 IP, 7 H, 2 BB, 7 ER, 1 HBP and 1 Balk

Worried he's going full Alzolay.  One of those anonymous relievers who was good for a year or two and then goes back into obscurity.

If he can’t touch 100 he’s cooked.  Not sure if he’s got that in him but he’s not going to overwhelm anyone at 96 obviously.

This pitching staff has been a nightmare all year and part of me feels like they’ve done an amazing job getting this far.  The other part of me says there has to be something the coach/trainers are doing wrong.  It’s too much of a disaster to just ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and say that’s baseball.

They're going to need Rolison,  Palencia, Zeferjahn,  and Webb all to be lights out for them in the playoffs to protect leads from innings 7-9.

If even just 2 of those guys struggle some, not sure if they have someone or two they can have full confidence in to step in their place, they would definitely need a surprise there with somebody to do that.

Best offense. Defense/ worst pitching.   Does that sound like a playoff winner. Good pitching can stop good hitting.
