I have no idea what is going on here, looks like the Cubs are arguing for a 'catcher balk' that I've never heard of. JD says if the catcher comes across home plate without the ball, it's a balk.

PCA is really mad which leads me to believe that he's right, but I don't know the rule on this one.

That was t the issue. Rodríguez stepped off the rubber mid wind up. That is a balk. If they could have reviewed it the call would have been made in 10 seconds. Obvious balk. Then, of course a lead off homer.
