In April, I traded a slumping Brian Giles for a slumping Travis Hafner. Giles has been good, but Hafner has been

I traded Pat Burrell and Jason Lane for Roy Halladay and Larry Walker. The trade was basically Burrell for Halladay...I dropped Walker later and he dropped Lane. My outfield is fine now anyways, as I have Vlad, Floyd and Bay.

Also, I dealt Chase Utley and Michael Young for Carlos Zambrano. I might have overpaid a little bit, but I already had Jeter at SS and had no use for Young, and Utley was only eligible at 1B and 2B, where I already have Ortiz and Kent.

Not trades, but picked up Barry Bonds for the stretch run this season and dropped LaTroy Hawkins in the process. I'm cravin some 4 walk games from him. Even if I only get 20 games out of him, it'll get me a title and a some decent money.

And I picked up Bobby Crosby (14 team league, wth is he doing available?) and dropped Geoff Jenkins. Cesar Izturis can't hit nor stay healthy, so Crosby was a great option given I didn't wanna part with a pitcher for a SS.

I'm guessing I"m not gonna lose.

I traded Bret Boone and a 10th round draft pick for Jhonny Peralta and a 6th rounder. Not amazing, but at least I got something for Boone before he went even farther downhill.

I traded Barry right when I got him, just cuz I felt something would go wrong, and thankfully I was right.........I got Randy Johnson for him, sure he's been average, but it's better than nothing

In a related thread:

Thanksfully, after our autodraft, I was able to trade Beckett and Morneau, to a team in my league for D.Lee and Brian Roberts. Talkabout a hindsight, great highway train robbery.....

Randy Johnson for Prior 2 days before he came off the DL.

Wood for Beckett when they were both coming off the DL, Beckett's back on already.

Obviously I'm the one who recieved the cobs pitching.

oh, and picking up Giambi after seeing him on an ESPN day game, and having him hit 4 bombs in the next 3 games wasn't bad either.

and yes, I'm in first place. Also sent the commish (who tried to block these trades) to last place in his own league during our head2head matchup. life is gooooood.

Heh, this trade has gotten even better now that Peralta has really started hitting...and Booney has been released.

3B- Aramas

LF- Alou

CF- Podsednik

RF- Sosa

OF- Miguel Cabrera

Util- Brian Roberts

Util- Melvin Mora

Plus I have Prior, Zambrano, Zito, Sheets, Harden, Matt Morris, Maddux, Penny. Bedard, B.J. Ryan, Dempster, Baez, and Hoffman.

Last year I trade Jody Gerut, Ray Durham and Shawn Chacon for Johan Santana right before he dominated and Jimmy Rollins.

If only Maggs wasnt my main offensive player and Javier Vazquez wouldnt have had an awful second half I would have won instead of finishing second.

With a league that small, you should play NL or AL only.

You guys can't top these 2 which I made before this season started:

1. I traded Tony Womack for Trevor Hoffman. Hoffman has been an asset while Womack has been one of the worst players in baseball this year.

2. I traded Aubrey Huff and Tim Hudson for Carlos Delgado, Matt Clement, and Brian Roberts. Huff has struggled and Hudson's been hurt. Delgado has hit descently this year. Clement was an all star and has been good up until his previous few starts. Roberts...need i say more?

I got lucky and meant to hit the decline button on a trade where I got Zito and gave the guys El Duque. I hit the accept button on accident, but it has worked out well. Zito has been one of the best pitchers in the league since.

Was sick of his averageness last July, so I traded Barry Zito for Derrek Lee. Everyone in my league (keeper league) bashed me until Zito lost like 7 of 8 stars and D Lee started to heat up. Of course, we all know what happened in 05.

One trade that I'm still kicking myself for last lear is trading Soriano and Baez for M Young and Graves. Young finished much stronger than Soriano, but I believe that was right when Graves got stuck on 40 saves, so my save situation wasn't resolved. Mike Young is a great fantasy player, but Mark Loretta and his DL season have kept me from regretting the Soriano trade every time I see that Soriano hit a HR. :(

Jerry Hairston and Wilson Alvarez for Aaron Harang (07/15)

Shannon Stewart and Shingo Takatsu for Brandon Webb (06/15)

Jon Lieber and Mark Kotsay for Lance Berkman and Danny Graves (06/08 )

Raul Ibanez, Orlando Hudson and Brad Hawpe for Huston Street, Michael Cuddyer and Matt LeCroy (05/25)

Wade Miller and Kevin Gregg for Bobby Crosby and Trot Nixon (05/08 )

Those I'd rate as my best trades this year. Playing in an extremely deep league with scoring pretty much in line with real life value (so no fantasy rubbish about SB being the be all and end all).
