If nobody proves he was on roids, then I expect him to get his number retired.

That's been the cubs the past few years, getting beat by young unknown pitchers and then somehow picking up some wins against very good experienced pitchers like Pettite and Roy.

If you're playing to win a WS all you need is 2 dominant SPs and you're not gonna win it with your #3. To make the playoffs is a diff. story. As for Williams, he's been giving the cubs quality starts, sure he's given up some runs in the later innings, but he's still done a solid job.

That sarcasm is uncalled for. It doesn't take talking to them to infer that they want to stay in Chicago. The fact that Sarah is from the Chicago area, plus the fact that they bought a house in the area within the past couple of years, would tend to suggest that they want to stay in Chicago. Why is it uncalled for, it isn't a cheap shot or an insult, on all the boards I've been with, those kind of remarks are perfectly fine just as they are in REAL life, I don't see anything wrong with it at all.

Not ot nitpick, but the fact that his wife is from Chicago doesn't infer anything other than she's from Chicago. I'm from the Chicago area and no longer live there, and haven't for years. And I really like the Chicago area. As far as buying a house....that infers nothing either. People buy and sell houses all the time. And Kerry would be no different. It's comical when everyone says that KW can't be traded because of his "no-trade" clause. Players with those clauses get traded all the time. It just means the players has to approve the trade. Burnett? Wood II? Oh please no. Maddux sure isn't his old self but still does what he's always done and that's win games, he'll get 15 and that darn good for a #3. Williams isn't barely hanging on, he's been okay as a #5, I'm sure most teams would love him as their 5th starter. We just need a healthy staff that's all, if not, I say we get someone in the offseason, but please no Burnett. Imagine a team of Wood and AJ and throw in Prior in there, sure that looks sick and great on paper but in reality it's a rotation that's full of potential injuries.

No doubt Wood, our Pitching needs to be healthy and on top of their game now that the playoff race is finally starting to begin.

I don't think that's forgotten at all especially since we've been talking about his no-trade, but I don't think that he would'nt even think about going to another team like Texas, I don't think he'd mind that much especially since they are a contender.

Why not just start Rusch who's proven he's a good starter and just put Hill in the pen? I'd rather see Rusch pitch that's for sure. Sure Hill has done real well and put up sick K numbers in AAA and even at MLB level, but against righties and major leaguers seeing him 3-4 times in one game, he's probably gonna get lit up.

Can you support that stance? The Sox are scoring half a run less this year than last per game. There can be games where you score 10 runs and then next day get shutout and still avg a higher RPG than teams that consistently score 5 rpg. It's all about consistency and that's what guys like Pod bring, that's a player that consitently finds ways to get on base and steal them, I don't care if you avg 10 rpg if you score all those runs in half your games played.

First off Burnitz could play CF.....and if Hairston was traded to Washington, why would Baker tell him that right after a great ending to a game?

All I've read is 1-2 starts, but Gail Fisher on Comcast said 15-day DL, don't know if that's very credible though.

Why did he sign the clause in the first place if he wasnt unwilling to be traded. But, even in the remote possibility hendry decides to try to work a deal, there are three reasons it wont happen. Maybe cuz times change, feelings change, and new begginings aren't always bad, that's why. And yeah it'd be hard to trade him cuz there are a lot of things to take care of, but if they somehow did work out a deal, I'd be all for it.
