I would probably put Lumpuy, Cepeda, Snell, and Escobar at the tail end of this.  Don't believe Birdsell will be healthy.

   Hartshorn is the clear #1 after the TDL. Possible top-50 in baseball. Bat so good 1b threat might not matter.
2. Owen Ayers
   Cubs treated him like a top-50 prospect at the deadline, so I'll treat him close to that. If you believe in the defense and aren't scared off by the age, he's a great prospect.
3. Cade Townsend
   1st round pick, shiny new toy syndrome. With Wiggins looking rusty I'll give him the nod.
4. Jaxon Wiggins
   Hasn't really pitched much for a year. Looks rusty. Stuff is taking baby steps back to where it was, control needs dusting off.
5. Kane Kepley
   Need to see him do it against Double-A. Think maybe the Cubs like him more than I do.
6. Ethan Conrad
   1st round pick, derailed with injuries. Upside there.
7. Kaleb Wing
   IDK the injury extent yet, but the stuff popped. High praise in the ACL.
8. Caden Sorrell
   Love the power and the swing looks pretty but very uppercut forward. K's are the question
9. Brooks Caple
   Back end rotation upside. But looks like he could get there?
10. Myles Bailey
    80-grade power, major hit concerns. Power and EVs will have to carry the K rate should add walks.
11. James Triantos
    Jack-of-all-trades master of none (better to be than a master of one). Bench type but has value
12. Will Sanders
    Kitchen sink approach could get him to be an MLB starter. Reminds me of Colin Rea

    Big time body, big time upside big time control questions. He's fun though.

    A little older than you'd like for his level but the data jumps off the page. Sneaky value.

    He's in Triple-A and a step away from being an MLB reliever.

    Glasses may have saved him. K% still real, but you can see the tools.

    Pedigree and early look save him. Not over powering but could be a BORP

    I want to believe. Come back from TJS and show the upside and he'll shoot back up. Trades save his spot

    High priced prep arm signed away from LSU. Yeah, you get a token spot on my list.
20. Juan Cabada
    18 year old with solid approach. Lottery ticket but has pedigree with IFA signing status and I think he's not far off from a breakout.

System is a little less exciting today than a week ago, and that's okay. Enough draftees can pump up this list next year. Still have plenty of upside prospects bandied about. Feels like the top-spot is pretty defined with Hartshorn, the next-6 can be a "list 'em how you want" and then things get pretty fluid. But it remains a system with the arrow pointing up compared to where we thought it'd be.

It's interesting comparing the system to last year at this time.  I feel like a year ago the top 10 looked great and there were another half dozen guys I was happy to have in my 20 and then it cleared out FAST before you had to resort to the complex leagues or relievers like Riley Martin.

This year it's easier to get to 20, but the top 10 is the weakest it's been since '21/'22.

This was part of the reason why I didn't submit a list this go-round.  I'm a bit shaky on evaluating the new draftees, and I feel like we'll have a much clearer picture post-AFL regarding whether this system is still trending upwards, or if this year's deadline deals offset all of the gains made from the draft.

@CaliforniaRaisin Are you saying Wing underwent TJS for his most recent injury?  I can't recall seeing anything around here to that effect.

I was going to ask the same. I saw the pic of him with an elbow brace. Here’s hoping it was an internal brace procedure, rather than TJS.

Yeah, it was confirmed TJS.
