Should have been running right away. No way Seiya actually thought he made contact. 

EDIT: Well maybe not right away but there were definitely Italy a couple beats between when he saw the ball got away and when he started to run.

Yeah, it's super annoying to me and to Peterson.  And, what sucks more is they are 1 second ahead of the actual clock.

Agreed, but in his defense it's hard to anticipate a catcher just completely whiffing on catching a fastball

That probably speaks more to the Cubs luck, but Peterson has gotten some too. Between that and the Cards' .591 OPS over the last 14 games, it's probably premature and he should still be next to get replaced in the rotation, but will definitely appreciate his contributions.

Like they do in high school basketball,  crowd will count down the shot clock but be a second or two off to rush the opponents into shooting
