Aidan Smith rated a 45 prospect according to mlb.com.  Our 45's are in our top 7-11 range, like Wing, Long, Triantos.

Gary Gill is as well.

Sounds like Huascar Brazoban is on the move from the Mets, but nothing official yet.

Best name in baseball?

Don't even think Aidan Smith was the big get in that package

That definitely sounds like something going down.

I like the Holmes idea too. What does Holmes and Weaver cost? Or might it be Raley?

I think Holmes might be annoyed if he had to go back to the pen if he wants to start, wouldn't he?  Would be a nice in the pen or rotation.

If he wanted to start so bad his agent should have snuck in a NTC.

We have one legit prospect, be nice to not trade him for a rental.

You don’t have to worry about that.

lol

I assume the dueling cash considerations is some sort of "depending on how many starts he makes" sort of deal but still funny.

If the Cubs can get better, and keep PCA, Ramirez and Hartshorn, I’ll feel great about it.

If he is traded I would guess it won’t be for a rental. Also, something to remember, he was a 6th round draft pick last year. If that turns into a playoff starting pitcher with control left, the Cubs FO should be applauded for getting that value in the 6th round of last years draft. I am not saying I want him traded. And it might not even happen. But if it does it won’t be for a rental and it will be a good return for a 6th round selection.

I dunno. Calling it ‘value for a 6th round pick’ doesn’t feel right. He was paid second round money. And it’s not like we have fuckall to show for our past few drafts.

If Pedro is traded, that means both Cam Smith and he were traded to keep horsefeathers Matt Shaw around.
