Matt's article should probably give a decent foundation, though, in that the Angels really liked Ayers and he's not in the lineup. Kane Kepley has no real reason to not play today, as well. Yet...he's out too.

I don’t mind that. You need multi inning shutdown guys for the playoffs. Brown or Holmes piggybacking a 4 inning Shota/Boyd start, etc.

It would have to be him. There is not a pitcher left on the market who should demand a top 10 prospect in the game.

Fun thing about the Angels guys is you can play the same game with them.

I am all for Pitching Chaos in October.  Game 2 of that Padres/Cubs series where we saw I think one fastball under 97 MPH is forever going to be seared into my brain.  3 IP of Soriano airing it out followed by 2 IP each from Cabrera  and Brown topped off by Morejon and Palencia.  Who the hell is going to do anything against that?

Ok, cool. I would be fine with Ayers and Kepley for either Soriano or Detmers. I just wonder what else could be given to get Adell in the deal. Love to have his right handed bat.

I think I prefer Holmes over Peralta, but one less option for sure.

I like Weaver better anyway. But he will cost more. He has another year and is better.

If that’s the cost for Peralta there is no excuse for Jed not to get at least someone like Mize, Gausman or Holmes as a rental. Hope they aim higher, but one of those guys should be obtainable.

Sounds like Huascar Brazoban is on the move from the Mets, but nothing official yet. He shouldn't be the primary get for the bullpen but if they're going 2 BP arms he's not an awful second pick up.

Aidan Smith rated a 45 prospect according to mlb.com.  Our 45's are in our top 7-11 range, like Wing, Long, Triantos.
