Weather looks rough for this one. But I have to think the Cubs will do whatever they can to play this game. Cardinals had a night game in Atlanta last night. I am sure they got in very late. So Cubs will want to take advantage of that.

Pallante always feels on the verge of a breakout and then we face him and spike his ERA by half a run.  Let's keep that trend going.

Cards bullpen is shredded too, so that should hopefully pay dividends this weekend.

Supposed to storm between 2 and 6, surprise they haven't changed the start time yet

I am surprised at how many times people suggest changing start times. Honestly, how often does that even happen? I don’t recall it but for rare exceptions of hurricanes. Yet every time weather appears to be a problem people suggest just changing a game time as if it is just some easy thing to do. There are 40,000+ people who have to change plans if a game time is changed. Not that easy and not done that often.

They want people there for the rain delay so they can sell more food and beer

This is also probably true. I will be there today. Went Tuesday and am also going Sunday. Only in Chicago area for 5 weeks but I will get to 8 for sure, and maybe 9 games in that span. But they won’t get money in beer sales for me. Seldom buy anything at the game. Do eating and drinking either before or after the game.

It obviously doesn't happen often, but has...

If youre looking at the radar and see that heavy rain coming through at the start of the game and will be for a couple hours before it clears, why wouldn't as a fan attending, youd rather them say as in today case, game will start at 6:20 instead of 3, so you can wait before coming, over sitting underneath for 2-3 hours waiting or in most cases, you sit around waiting and then they cancel it.

I get they dont care cause they get people there spending extra money at the concessions waiting it out, but as a fan attending, id prefer them to just change the time if it going to be more than a 2 hour delay or cancel the game if theres no chance to play before I leave to go

How are 40,000 fans notified? Not everyone is talking baseball or expecting a game to change a start time. Logistically it just doesn’t work. Which is why it is extremely rare they change game times. Add to the fact that is is supposed to clear around 4. There are windows where they can plan. To further add, I am sure the Cubs want to make it as uncomfortable as possible for the Cardinals. If they could have played at 1:20 I am sure that would have been something the Cubs wanted to do. Playing a night game isn’t to the Cubs advantage.

I've started grabbing Raising Cane's prior to games when I go. Can pig out on one of those Caniac meals for far cheaper than in the park and that usually carries me clear through to the evening.
