“let’s see, I jogged on a groundout yesterday and almost cost us the game, what could I do today to make Cub fans hate me even more? ooh 3-0 pop up to the catcher.”

Shota not looking great, but it's a huge indictment of this offense that they've done fuckall against a starter with a 7+ ERA

In terms of skills Shota looks more like a long reliever than a starter to me.  He’s just not a guy I want out there for more than a couple times through the order,

Are there rumors of Boog moving on? I like him, but I’d want Len back.

I haven’t heard anything about Boog, but I do know Len won’t come back to do tv. He doesn’t want to do tv, period. If the Cubs had a radio opening he would have done that. But, they didn’t. They have Pat.

The offense had been dogshit since Thursday outside of the 6th inning on Saturday

It's the most frustrating cubs lineup I can remember.

On paper theyre a bunch of good hitters, but theyre pretty much hitting well below norm overall.

they can give you a good run of 5+ runs and then look like little leaguers for a week plus

The league has figured him out, Wrigley was a fly ball vacuum in 2024 and relying on only 2 pitches to get righties out isn’t ideal either.

I'd be very very surprised if hes back next season

Only our $513 million infielders are having poor seasons offensively.

So said another way, they didn’t do anything against Miz (who does?) but then got 8 runs on Saturday only to struggle again yesterday. Doesn’t sound nearly as dire as you make it out to be. And prior to Miz, they were great.

Amaya has been really disappointing at the plate this year

He's actually good with RISP.

They have 25 hits since Thursday and have scored only 1 run off of a scrub. It’s not dire but they’ve cooled off.

The cubs are second in baseball offensively over the last 14 days, and have been league average for the last 7, the expectations for constant elite production are so, so stupid

I know how much Happ is loved here But...

18 for last 92  34 Ks is not good
