The Murray ERA begins

Hopefully, he's better than Maton.

Boog said that was the right call.  I'm confused.  It's new to me.

I have no doubt by the rule book it's the right call. But I'm not a fan of the "guy came off the bag for a split second therefore he out" call and this is that taken to another level because PCA is entitled to second base on the walk and probably didn't even know ball 4 had been called.

So, cubs now have 2 garbage time pitchers in the pen..

Maton and Murray

That sounds right, unfortunately.  This new guy is just like Maton.

I understand you have a six run lead, why must they always seem to make it dramatic at the end? This team is frustrating as hell lol. With that said, glad to see some guys coming out of their slumps and a nice win. Go Cubs.

Because we had a 6 run lead, it was actually good time to try the new guy.  And, I'm glad they did let Murray pitch today.

At least, it was a stress free win.  And, now, we know Murray kinda sucks.

We found out a guy sucks, and still won.

++ night

I think that while he regretted letting him go, the Cubs never had any intention of signing him this off season. I would say they never even talked to him.

I think they talked to Pete Alonso though.

I mean, when one of the game's most marketable young stars, who is currently one of the most valuable players in baseball this season, and plays in a major market, is nowhere near being voted an All Star starter, the system is badly flawed.

Sure, it always has been, but maybe it's time to look for a better way to do this. All Star starters shouldn't be determined by who can best mobilize their fans and/or hack the voting system.

On a related note, why are Cubs fans suddenly so uninvested in voting for their players?

May happened lol

Hopefully the offense stays hot for a month or so , because this pitching staff is just atrocious

At this very moment Colin Rea is our #3 starter and I think Jacob. Webb is basically our closer.

It's going to be interesting what the Cubs do this winter to improve the rotation.  The only guys coming back are Cabrera, Brown, and Assad, plus whatever Steele does, which they should assume is next to nothing just to be safe.

They also have to replace Seiya and Happ, plus Kelly is gone.

Have fun Jed!
