He started out so hot but couldn't make the adjustments once the scouting report got out. I hope he figures it out in AAA and helps us out down the stretch.

I'm actually okay with this.

It's very hard to get him into games while Seiya's locked into DH, so in the immediate term he's basically wasting a roster spot.  And even when he's healthy it's tough to give all three of him/Shaw/Pedro decent playing time.  Given that A) Mo can actually get some valuable development at Iowa (not so much at the plate but behind it) and B) the struggles of the infield mean you want both Shaw and Pedro around, it makes sense he drew the short straw.

Really curious who comes up in his place.  Triantos just for pinch running?

I kind of remember he's pretty fast.  Can be a good pinch runner, and a backup OF.

Going to Iowa to get his head on straight. No corresponding move yet

Stuff like this should really go in official club social media posts.

“Moises Ballesteros has been optioned to AAA because he’s a head case.”

Good call, yeah I could see him pinch running and defensive replacement.  Not sure how much they'd want him pinch hitting, but they could use another RHH on the bench if Shaw will be iin RF the next while.

If he can bunt that could be useful too.

Seems like a good place to stump for Moises.  While his numbers have been bad over this stretch, I don't think he has fallen apart completely in the way that some other guys have.  He knows the zone and makes hard contact.  He has pressed a bit and started to expand.   I still think he's the best pure hitter on the team at 22.

He's hitting better than Dansby and Nico the last 5 weeks and he's a lefty.  But he wasn't going to be playing a lot with Shaw back and hitting well against righties lately and Seiya DH-ing.  Better to get the AB's I guess.
