To be fair though, Neifi has a better batting average than Barrett. If holla can keep his hot streak alive I may be in love with this lineup. I wouldnt mind seeing Burnitz switched with ARam, but why move ARam around when he is really starting to hit in the spot he is at.

so he comes up with one out and guys on first and third like yesterday and doesn't lead off. You put your best hitters 3 and 4 Burnitz isn't anywhere near the hitter Ramirez is.

I'd also like to say that I have no idea why Dusty is benching Corey for a couple of days after several games of looking much better at the plate. I love the logic.

yeah but the boo birds were really going to be on him after that pop up on the 2-0 count with two guys on.

And that is why booing is terrible. He could have easily been on base 4 times on Friday if Welke got some glasses and yet he's booed for taking pitches out of the zone in 3-2 counts. If you're want an player to improve, don't hate him when he does it.

I love how a select percentage of fans can dictate what happens. Especially since based on my experiences at Wrigley, most of them are drunk and not paying much attention to the game. They're just waiting for a chance to boo him.

Exactly.

Dusty was worried about protection for Ramirez and yet he leaves him in the 5th spot with Hollandsworth and Perez behind him? No reason for the order not to be Hairston, Walker, Lee, Ramirez, Burnitz, Barrett, Hollandsworth, and Perez.

Hollandsworth has been hitting well lately. But I agree with you Ramirez should be 4th.

He has for the past couple of weeks, but it's still not much. And if Ramirez is hitting 4th, you'd likely split up the lefties with Barrett in the 6 spot. It's a better lineup.

He's hit well for over a month. He hit around .350 for the month of June.

I just meant consecutively. He had a week in June where he didn't do as well.

Dustan Mohr just hit a homer off Mulder in the top of the first. Rockies 2-0, 0 out in the first.

How awesome would it be for the Rockies to win their first road series of the year in St. Louis?

Watch it. You're starting to stray into Lee Elia territory here.

I completly agree with that, but what if by moving ARam around you mess with his batting. Like Walker said in his interview it makes it tougher to hit being moved around. We just got ARam near .300 lets not mess with him.

I don't boo any of our players unless I feel they aren't trying. I have played enough baseball to know how freaking hard it is to do what they are doing at that level. Dusty however, is open field.

Yeah, but "booing is terrible"??? What's that supposed to mean? Booing is booing.

That's like saying Mt. Everest is terrible. No it's not. It just exists. Booing isn't terrible. It's just what fans do.

Unless we're saying the booing is *causing* Patterson to stink. In which case he's got bigger problems than the fans anyway.

We cheer when they do well, why can't we do the opposite when they do the opposite?

Go Cubs

What's the point? Corey knows he's not doing well, he's obviously trying hard to break out of it. Booing him only hurts him, doesn't help him improve, and doesn't help his trade value if you want to get rid of him. You're not always going to get David Aardsma and Jerome Williams for a slumping player you boo out of town.

And it's selective booing, where the heck is the booing for Neifi and others who have struggled at times just as badly as Corey.

pretty sweet. Even sweeter if we would have taken care of business this series. We should have went for the sweep against Milwaukee and had some momentum going into this one, but Dusty had to play the forfeit lineup.

I really think he gets booed because of how much he was hyped. Which isn't really fair as it wasn't Corey telling everyone how great he was.

When I went to Wrigley I was really disappointed in how the fans were treating Cub players. It was sad that many of the Cub fans were more harsh on Cun players than White Sox players.

Man I have to go to work at 3... that freakin sucks. Hopefully we jump out to a huge lead before I have to head out.

The word censors will do their best to prevent that.

Huh? We just got Williams for Hawkins who was booed out of town! You're suggesting that GMs listen to the booes and use it as an evaluation tool. Surely you aren't serious.

Over the last month, Hollandsworth is actually out hitting Ramirez, albeit in BA only, not in slugging.

No reason for the order not to be Hairston, Walker, Lee, Ramirez, Burnitz, Barrett, Hollandsworth, and Perez.

Putting Burnitz ahead of Ramirez does split up your right handed hitters. Burnitz over the last month is hitting 0.305 / 0.381 / 0.524 / 0.905. Putting him in the fourth sport is eminently reasonable, i.e. able to be reasoned. Now, you can argue the wisdom or the value of that decision, but to say that there is no reason belies your education and powers of logic.

What fans do? I'd like to hear how booing a player for taking what should be ball 4 is what good fans do.

Z really relied on that slider last time out. Let's hope he can do it with his 2-seamer today.
