I didn't realize the Phillies were off to this start. I knew they weren't lighting the world on fire, but didn't realize they're well under .500.

That’s because when they faced off last Monday, Cubs and Phillies had identical 7-8 records

I think age is starting to catch up to the Phillies.  Schwarber, Turner, Realmuto, Nola, Harper - all the big $$ folks they tied up with long contracts are all 32 are older.  Their window is closing.  Most players are past their prime production by that age, I think you are starting to see that with the Phillies.  There's still some quality production in that group, but I don't think any of that group has their best years ahead of them.

Plus, they are not a very good defensive team.

We are playing them at a good time, I think they will make a run at some time this year, but I think their peak is probably been achieved in the past with this group.

There are 5 teams in the NL Central that are over .500.

There are 5 teams in the entire AL that are over .500.

I was just thinking "it's probably a bad sign we've heard crickets on Harvey" so pleasantly surprised there.

Feels like this west coast roadtrip these guys are all out, but Maton/Roberts activated at the start of the next homestand and Palencia by the end of that homestand?  Not the worst outcome.

And all our division rivals are winning right now.  Ugh.

One thing to look forward to with Busch PCA and Swanson is that for them to get to their career batting averages of about .250 , theyre all going to need to go on a bit of a tear to get it up there.  🤷

I know it’s early, but Busch looks cooked.

Might need to sit him against lefties for awhile , at least until he finds his groove

Might need to sit him against righties.

He's got options left if it gets really dire

I was thinking about that the other day, but who takes his spot ? Do they go with Long or Murray for 2 weeks
