And just like that, the Cubs are back into a reasonable spot on the season. Just needed some #lolmets in their lives.

FG currently has no starter listed for Wednesday. Assume the plan from the current roster is to try and avoid Brown for the next two days and then let him rip, probably after some sort of lefty opener. Which probably means that Little or Rolison is going to have to throw BP if Rea or Shota go sideways today or tomorrow.

In more positive news, if the Phillies are trying to avoid using relievers three out of four days, Kerkering, Mayza, Banks, and Shugart are all down today, and they're presumably not going to lean on Alvarado or Keller for multiple innings, which leaves some dudes named Kyle Backhus and Seth Johnson, both of which were in AAA last week, so if we can run up the pitch count we'll be in decent shape offensively.

I thought the Cubs were activating Boyd for that game. Can’t announce him yet, since he isn’t even in the team.

Good call, had forgotten about that.

Makes sense too. Phillies are bad against lefties. Might as well give them as many as you can.

The Mets are lost in space. Back to reality. I'm hoping for a split here. A 5-2 homestand is pretty good.

Agreed, I'd take a split right now....though it seems like we caught both the Mets and Phillies at a good time.

Split is fine, but with the Phillies down I would like 3 of 4. Trip to California is going to be rough. If they split these they have a real chance at a 4-6, 10 game stretch.

DFA Happ

I thought Happ sucked? Isn’t that what everyone keeps saying? He needs to sit because of his bad start. How can he possibly be the WAR leader in left field and so many people are down on him?

Sucked his way to an .886 OPS

Need at least a split, but winning 3 would be awesome with the Dodgers and Padres up next.

Just stay afloat and hopefully get Busch, and Swanson over the Mendoza line this series.

There's no way that's right. A DH has a 1.9 war and we aren't even a month into the season?

Ok, I guess when you are opsing over 1.200 that makes some sense.

So why no opener for Rea tonight like they did last week?

Maybe pen availability? Last week they still had Palencia.
