It’s what he does - way too early and little sample size, but their pitching is looking like hot garbage so far. Horton and hopefully Cabrera can be stable. The others I have zero confidence in

I really wanted Sandy Alcantara instead of Cabrera.  IMO, he's one of the best pitchers in the game when healthy and the Cubs could have had him at a discount.  And he threw 7 scoreless innings in his debut.  Cabrera better deliver because that was a high risk move.

To be fair to Shota, that pitch (labeled here as 4) is well off the plate.

Double whammy...

Didn't throw a strike and the pitch was still hittable enough to drive out 🙄🤷

Lol

Now this is coming from a guy that doesn’t actually know that much about baseball but this feels like bad luck so far. Hopefully the pendulum swings back.

I know people are itchy about Shota and the long ball, but I'm here to remind you that 25 of the 31 homers he surrendered in 2025 were solo shots

Did not age well.

Shota has 13 swings and misses and his fastball velo is sitting at 92.3mph on the day, mirroring his 92.5mph in Spring Training. He gave up a home run, but I'm encouraged by the stuff and misses. Those are really good signs.

Just seen Taillon is scheduled to start Tuesday over going back to Boyd, this could be a Horton Cabrera and pray for rain start of the season...  lol
