I'm not even mad at Shota.  Two dink hits followed by the one home run.

I'm more pissed about Andrew Vaughn somehow becoming a superstar player.

I give the Brewers credit for the acquisition but did anyone else think he was capable of this?

Ok. I think thats the nail in the coffin - the Cubs aren't gonna win this series. Its written in the stars: We're not allowed anything nice. The second something good happens to us they respond IMMEDIATELY. We aren't allowed even a half inning of peace. That's a bad sign. Brewers get to be the team of destiny, thats fine. They've certainly deserved it for a while.

Get out of here with that horsefeathers, 0-0 game and it’s the 2nd inning.

Justin Turner has a 124 wRC+ against LHP since June 1st

Michael Busch has a 99 wRC+ against LHP since June 1st

Justin Turner has a 137 wRC+ against LHP since July 1st

Michael Busch has a 143 wRC+ against LHP since July 1st

Maybe my Fangraphs data was a little off and Busch passed him mid June, but based on that and Busch's defense, there is absolutely no reason to be playing Turner right now. Busch has been one of the Cubs' best hitters and Busch's bad stretch against lefties early on in the season is no reason to be sitting him now. This really shouldn't be a hard decision.

I know he was horrendous with the Sox, but he is a career .253 hitter who averages a hair over 17 HRs a year.  He’s not Babe Ruth but he hasn’t been total trash either.

Shota threw last week on 6 days rest and is throwing today on normal rest.

Ok?

He and Boyd could of still used that day off or two at the end of September over having to make those extra pitches going into the playoffs.

He's really making his money on four home runs against LHP. I don't think that's likely to continue. We can go back to his time in Triple-A and the MiLB and his data has always been "the slugging disappears against LHP".

I think that's a fluke.

He’s literally never been good against lefties besides this invented 28 PA sample size. It’s not a ‘bad stretch’

He literally just pitched on extra rest. He gave up a towering bomb to Machado and 3 runs in less than 5 innings. The extra rest isn't the thing. His last start was on the 25th of September and he got blasted. The Cubs clinched the playoffs on the 17th.

What are you talking about?

Pulling the ball helped turn around Shaw's offense this year, but now he looks to be pulling off the ball. That and he can't catch up to heat and doesn't have a B hack.

Nice walk though.

If you take out the good numbers, his bad numbers are even worse!
