I don’t see how its the managers fault that Castro can’t see, or Shaw can’t make a simple pick, or Tucker can’t not throw the ball directly into a runners head but thats just me

Let’s also not overlook constantly leaving starters in too long, consistently batting the likes of Kelly and Turner in the top half of the lineup when they’ve been garbage for a month now while Shaw sits in the 8 or 9 hole. Playing Happ almost every single day when he has been one of the worst hitters in the MLB. Yes players make mistakes, but a lot of the Cubs issues fall at the feet of Counsell and he’s done almost nothing to change things up.

If they had more than three outfielders on the roster they wouldn't have an infielder playing left field

Yes the Giants bad offense trouncing the Cubs pitching is rough but the 5 total runs of offense in games started by pitchers with ERAs of 4.64 and 5.01 is more bothersome to me.

Should I go see the Cubs game in San Francisco tomorrow?  I really thought about it.  I still think they will win with Shota.  But, I'm so pissed now that I don't think I'm going.

Feels like a theme.  We love to rescue bad starters.

Remember when we were talking about sweeping the Giants?

It feels like yesterday

On the plus side, it's pretty likely we can give guys extra days off in September since we'll be locked in to a WC spot. Guess we have to root for the Padres-Dodgers race to go down to the wire.

I can't stand them. I have to deal with Giants fans in my day-to-day and it's going to be even more insufferable than usual.

I live in St. Louis and work with a White Sox fan. You haven’t met suffering yet.

Cubs are trying to wear them out tonight so that they're slow and sluggish tomorrow

It’s all part of the plan.

The Giants are playing checkers while the Cubs are playing a longer, slower game of checkers.

Would love to see non-pitches at least try like Nate Eaton did. He was throwing 70-95 mph throughout his first appearance. That would be fun.
