It’s surreal that in this fairly good lineup the two at-bats I want to see most are the 7 and 9 hitters.

Happ has had a wRC+ of 133 since July 26th. He is fine at #2 in the line up.

Me thinks they're trying to go left- right- left etc.  Also protecting PCA from lefties by surrounding him with RHB who smoke LHP.

Haven't checked but I believe Happ has been hitting ok, compared to everyone else.

Edit: confirmed by Rcal

This is since the all-star break:

Wow those OPS's of our main guys are just brutal.

It’s funny that everyone was mad at Jed for not doing two big things at the trade deadline: get a top of the line starting pitcher or a 3b bat. And then, the Cubs have REALLY struggled since the ASB…

and yet, how are the Cubs struggling? Well it’s not starting pitching, where they’ve had a run of excellent starting pitching since the ASB, and it’s not 3B where Matt Shaw has been their best hitter the last month+, it’s every other facet of the team completely collapsing.

strange how things work

I don’t get why Nico isn’t a contender for lead off? He’s got a .370 OBP since the ASB, he’s been one of the few very consistent hitters on the team

We’re looking for more strikeouts.

Hopefully Rea is on point today and the ump is kind with the calls on the edge of the strike zone

I think a tight zone by the umpire would help the Cubs. As long as he is consistently tight for both teams Miz will walk a lot of guys.

I wouldn’t mind Nico leading off, but he doesn’t really walk enough. His OBP is the same as Busch. But since the break he has done well, so I would be ok with him leading off.
