Is this going to be a WWE-style situation, where Scherzer is pummeling Dansby Swanson to end the game, only for a limo to speed out onto the field with Owen Caissie stepping out as the crowd goes bonkers?

So Caissie gets the call late last night, has to get from Des Moines to Toronto in 15'ish hours, then turn around and fly right back to Chicago tonight for a game tomorrow afternoon. Welcome to the big leagues, kid!

That puts us at 73-55 with 34 games left, .500 record the rest of the year, which is conservative, gets us to 90 wins. I wouldn't necessarily call it 'coasting', but we might not be pedal to the metal if we come out of the Brewers series without a realistic shot at the division, and keeping the guys fresh, especially on the pitching side but offensively too, could be a priority. 

I think if they are not within 3 games (and I am pretty sure they won’t be) and have the tiebreaker with the Brewers they may slow down Boyd and Horton’s innings. TBH, I almost hope that is the case. Hate to see then use those guys hard all season and come up short. Then have to hope they ok for playoff pitching. I am not that worried about Boyd. But they do have Horton’s future to think of. The ace of the 2032 staff cannot be overused this season and get hurt.

Who do we root for in Mil-Cin this weekend? Were two games closer to Cin but they’ve got a brutal schedule the rest of the way (still play Mil, LAD, Tor, NYM, SD and us, and they also have StL twice, Ari and LAA, all of whom are around .500). So I assume we probably want neither team to sweep.

Reminded me of when Sox played Toronto in 1993 playoffs a buddy who a huge Sox fan and I went to Toronto to see Game 4 with a group from his bar, family owned. He and I went and bought 2 scalped tickets for 80 bucks total to sit in box seats 1st base side instead of sitting on top with the rest of group.

Hour flight there, hour flight back the same night, we went to his bar at 2AM and just drank for another couple hours after it was close 🤣🤣🤣
