It would be nice if the superstar the team traded for in the offseason would play like one. Heck, I would accept Matt Lawton level offense from him right now. It has been a loooooooooooong time since I felt good about him coming up to bat.

The Cubs were in 1st place 15 days ago.  Now we’re the 2nd place team that’s farthest away from being in 1st.  Thats wild

The Blue Jays have acted more like a big market team than us the last 5 years.  They went hard after Ohtani, after Soto, and will certainly go after Tucker.  Inexcusable

What’s the money line on the Cubs missing the playoffs?  It’s gotta be like +1500, right?  I’ll put a stack on it.

Ian Happ has the 21st most fWAR among outfielders since the beginning of 2023. 25th best hitter. He’s actually good.

Ignoring that OF assist he just had. Happ has a career 115 wRC+, is still at a 105 wRC+ right now in his down year, and grades out well defensively for a leftfielder. He's not an allstar level talent, but he's probably a safe bet to put up 25 fWAR in his career.

Last several games have seemed like our opponents have the dumbest bat luck in terms of BABIP and balls falling in (while everything we hit is right at someone). Nothing to account fo it (outside of not missing bats)

Assuming I’ve done the FG splits right, the pitching staff has been terrible on a full year basis at getting strike outs but actually really good the last 14 days. Feel like that anecdotally checks out with Shota, kittredge, etc.

The results are overall good over that stretch, with our LOB% really the only thing that looks bad…which makes sense

Tom Ricketts is poor. On the bright side, at least cubs games are super affordable to attend. Tickets are only like $150 and a beer is only $14. What a deal

Two excellent ABs from the bottom of the order.

Unfortunately the top and middle of the order can't hit for horsefeathers.
