The aggressive sends that work tend to go unnoticed

When you have someone that it makes sense to be aggressive with than by all means wave away.  However, you need to discern who and who not to send.

How did you feel about the send in game one? Shallow fly to right.

I know you weren’t asking me, but I think the reduced chance of an errant throw in that situation, and with a slow runner, you lose that battle much more often than you win it.

They got lucky...

There's a big big difference between the two though, the first one Kelly a slow footed catcher, wasn't running 270 feet to try and outrun a throw, a 3B coach should know his baserunners and know outside of a errant throw he going to be nailed, and also know who is coming up afterwards, which was Castro.

There's being aggressive and theres being stupid, this send was being stupid.

I didn't mind that send. Some of you are REALLY prone to letting bad results make you bitch about good processes.

Someone drove by Happ yesterday when complaining about Seiya - he's one of our only hitters consistently barreling the ball over the last week - but he's running into bad luck. So therefore he SUCKS.
Be less dumb.

Less dumb?  It was a bad send with a slow runner yesterday and it was a bad send today.   Know your runner, and know the situation (next batter, etc).  Not sending him is the less dumb move.

In case you were curious, you're one of them

You mean they shouldn’t have sent Kelly because he is slow. Interesting. Friday the guy who scored on the shallow sac fly was Kelly. He is slow. If you have a better chance to score the run then the next runner does to get a hit the right play is to send. Unfortunately that means a guy gets thrown out 50-60% of the time and we have these discussions.

I'm sure the Brewers 48-15 is not the best 63 game stretch in baseball history but it's gotta be like in the top 20?

A’s finished their final 63 games of 2001 49-14. Second best so far

Maybe he meant center infielder? term that he invented on the spot? Odd error to make.

It would be odd if it were literally anyone else. Sadly with Cohen it’s par for the course.

Or horsefeathers IL him and call up Caissie or Alcantara.

That's what I keep saying, Cassie or Alcantara may struggle.  At least they're healthy and, you never know, one of them might buck the trend and give the Cubs a hot week or two.

Oh well as long as you say so.  Those were not smart sends. You’re flat out wrong.  Not a good process, and so there you have it.  DUMB.
