Clearly he had no intention of facing Seiya with PCA on deck.

I thought that but I’m sure he didn’t want to put a RISP there

Not usually, but in this case... Maybe.

PCA has a .443 SLG and 7 HR against lefties this year and Seiya is in a 2-30 slump.

you might be right though. It’s not like PCA generally looks good against lefties

The Cubs have 3 runs in 5 innings

On a wild pitch strike out and an air-mailed throw on a dribbler. Let’s not pretend they’re making any sort of solid contact.

PCA as a cleanup hitting slugger is/was fun, but he should probably be hitting 6th with Busch cleanup and a righty in between them.  Of course that means Happ would need to show signs of life to go back to leadoff.

Seems like I say this after every Jameson Taillon start, today Boyd gets it

"It's okay he gave up 4 runs and blew the lead, he showed grit by hanging in there and getting us through 6"

They scored on a wild pitch and a 2 run throwing error.

Yea, it sucks cause in most cases this season getting him 3 runs is enough but for him to be able to grind out 5 so far and save the pen for tomorrow is big.

Just gonna let them keep teeing off to save Flexen an inning?

For as much as we want to bag on the lineup, Counsell has been just as bad these last few weeks

I feel like the whole game changed on that Yelich AB and him not getting one of those three borderline calls.  Not trying to blame the umps but it has been wildly inconsistent today

come on dude. you’ve already won “most level headed poster” 5 seasons in a row, no need to lean this far into it.

Can’t figure out how the Crew finds players like Vaughn.  There’s no doubt at all, he’ll play well and then tank out as soon as he leaves.
