Yea for now, id rather get some distance between us and Brewers for the division, and these next 5 days can do that with Brewers playing Dodgers and then the head to head with them starting Monday.

FYI the Brewers series starts a week from Monday.  Cubs play at home vs KC and then on the South side next weekend before heading up to Milwaukee.

Ngl when Estrada broke out with the Padres, I was annoyed. Watching Palencia do his thing this year ended my annoyance with Estrada.

Yeah, Estrada cuts pretty deep indeed and rest assured you aren't the only one who has twisted and turned over him breaking out with the Padres. But to your point, we got Palencia from Oakland for Andrew Chafin of all people so.....YEAH. Win some, lose some I guess.

Not sure but I did see on twitter that Luke Little is with the Cubs this weekend but not called up at the moment.  He could probably give them 2-3 innings if they go that route.

Yuck! I don’t want to see a Little. But maybe Brown and Little replace Roberts and the last guy in the pen.

Lol..

I've been looking at the schedule with the Brewers so much that I overlooked an entire week 😅

A Ben Brown start would not lead to a well-rested pen, lol

A pen game, exclusively, would not lead to a well rested pen. Brown at least has a chance of giving them 5 innings, small as it may be. Then send him back down.

Lmao did you mean Little could give them 2-3 innings or outs?

So 8 more games before the Brewers. Maybe gain 1.5 games and go into Milw with a 3 game lead. Take 2 of 3 and leave up 4. I would be very satisfied with that.

I thought he meant walks.
Best case scenaround is Luke pitches the first inning and doesn’t give up a run. Then Brown goes 5 innings. See where they are after 6. Hopefully they are in the game.

Right, if he can get them 4-5 innings that would be a huge plus and better then the alternative of hoping to get 1 or 2 from a bunch of guys.

Yep that would be nice.

The schedule favors the Cubs as far as teams they both play til then, so yea if they cant add at least 2 more to the lead by then it'll be somewhat disappointing, especially if it because the Cubs didn't play well.

Brewers beating the Dodgers yet again lol

It's legitimately absurd how inept the Dodger offense is against the Brewers. In Almost 4 complete games now, 1 of which went to extra innings, the Dodgers have scored 4 runs.

3 hits and 0 runs in 8 innings so far tonight.

The brewers are virtually unbeatable right now

I guess we can look at it from a Brewers perspective to try to make ourselves feel a little better.  They have to be thinking, "We're playing out of our minds and can't lose, but how can we still not catch the Cubs?"

Probably because they were 6.5 games behind us when their run started

it’s kind of like the end of 2018 again. The cubs (obviously) aren’t playing bad but the Brewers are unstoppable

Gonna come down to head to head games against each other.

3 at end of month in Milwaukee and 5 in Mid August at home.  They both have 65 games left, just beat them H to H and at the very least stay even in the other 57.

Hopefully in August the Cubs can put some distance between them to where September can become not if but when they clinch the division and a top 2 record.

I say stop worrying about what Mil is doing. The Cubs should keep doing their thing and take care of the Brewers when it is time to play Mil.  Do that and it won't matter what Mil is doing.
