Is this going to be one of those games where they get bored with the current game and switch to another, or are they locked in?

The Cam Smith hate in this thread is wild

The fact is he plays for a different club now and the national commentators are being annoying about the trade now (including Boog, who commentates national games and brought up the trade a bunch of times yesterday).

I guess that the storyline in this series will be the Cam Smith/Kyle Tucker trade, and when the schedule moves onto the Cleveland series, the storyline will be the 2016 World Series. But the suggestion that anyone is giving Cam Smith hate is, IMO, inaccurate. More power to him if he has a solid career.

For all the hand wringing about Cam Smith, dude has fewer HRs than Nico this week.

Also, I watched from Nico's bases loaded groundout through the Smith HR. I will not turn it back on.

I don’t sense hate. Just because some fans aren’t going to induct him into the HOF off of a decent start in the majors doesn’t mean anyone hates him. I don’t want him to do well in this series, because he is playing the Cubs. Other than that, I really don’t give him much thought. He has been solid this year. Good for him.

Yea, I dont see the hate, I see more of wishing they kept him over Shaw in here.

Does. Nico hitting 2 homers in 8 AB in this park diminish the HR totals of the Astros? I mean Nico has 2 homers in Houston.

True. But maybe Houston wanted Smith. We don’t know. And perhaps in the end people will be happy they have Shaw instead of Smith.

I don’t think anyone is anointing him a hall of famer either. Its just a little odd how hard some are trying to highlight some flaw in his game, like hes a 22 year old with a 126 wRC+. Yes he will have some warts but its funny to see how weirdly defensive some are when its brought up that Hoyer might end up losing this trade (theres still the rest of this season to go so thats a premature statement too)

its ok to admit hes having a good year so far

I think I did say he is having a solid year. In fact in the post you quoted I said that very thing.
