So I watched the replay in real time, and at the exact impact you “see” the back of Busch’s glove ripple, the runners foot was so clearly off the base.

But of course review centre looks at still frames and not the actual ripple of the glove in real time.

The Mets, tigers and dodgers are playing.333 ball vs 500> teams too?

The Dodgers are 12-11 against teams currently in playoff position, the Cubs are 9-13. If you think that's a meaningful distinction over that sample size, I don't know what to tell you.

I’ve got good news for you because the Cubs aren’t either!

Considering the initial comment was since 4/23, we are in fact, doing that very thing.   So, news not so good……

The cubs are playing at a 100 win pace 40% of the way through the season while receiving, due to injuries, 0.3 fWAR from their top two starters.

understandably, people are very upset about this.

Ok you take the Mets I’ll take the rest of the NL

That is in the ENTIRE league.  Every first place team in MLB is playing better against .500 teams than we are.  Most (besides your use of LA as an example, knowing full well every other first place team is doing much better)  are several games above against .500 or better teams.

And the other teams he mentioned?

Good for them? I guess we’re bad?

Well it’s too bad those games from before Apr 23 don’t count in the standings.

I dunno man I'm only gonna do so much leg work to debunk the absurd contortions people will do to create points of worry.  Apparently games in April don't count unless they're in the last week of April because that's when the real teams really get going?  Maybe it has to do with the phase of the moon or something

Why do the games since April 23rd lead you to conclusions about how they’ll play in October but not the ones before?

You could’ve asked that last April when they started 17-10. When Carson Kelly turns Into babe Ruth again and this team can scrap together more than a run on an average night vs every top end pitcher, I’ll retract my statement.

Man, Shaw took a pitch right down the middle, and swung at a curveball at the chalk near his feet the next pitch....

Yeah that was terrible. I hate when hitters make horrible swing decisions in advantageous counts.

No, but we’ve been offensively challenged for the last 4-5 series.  And that was the initial point.  We’re beating bad teams and playing. Way poorly against solid teams.  Much more so than the other first place teams league wide.

Why does it seem like they struggle to get that ghost runner home often..

Gonna be tough to hold them here with who they have up now
