Kelly back tonight?  Did they say what the illness was?

No, he still out.

Must be something serious to miss 3 games, unless they're just giving him the extra days cause it's the Rockies and would rather him fresh and ready to go for the Reds this weekend.

Little bit of a bullpen crunch on our end. Palencia, Pomeranz, and Thielbar have all thrown the last two days, Brasier went Saturday and Sunday. Would guess in an ideal world they're all unavailable today, and those first three should probably get tomorrow off as well. Let's hope for some lopsided scores so that we don't have to worry too much about Kriske and Flexen eating some innings.

It is a bit of a problem today. I imagine Flexen is first out. Hopefully Horton can go 6. Maybe Flexen, Brasier and Keller for the last 3? I think Brasier will be available.

If Horton is going to control that tight slider, the Rockies are cooked

The Rockies average 3.1 runs per game. They would be cooked if I was pitching.

Exactly. And if you take the 8 runs Pressley gave up without getting an out, out of the equation the pen would probably be top 4 in the NL. They have not been nearly as bad as many suggest they have been.

You could say that with any bullpen. Take out their biggest blowup and they are better.

Boog telling Steele that he is welcome any time he wants to join them in the booth is kind of ironic. Boog is welcome to travel with the team any time he wants to call a road series lol.

Any particular reason that Reese McGuire is allegic to asking for an appeal on a checked swing? It seemed like there were a couple there that could have been called strikes.

The Rockies suck, but this is also the best version of Cade Horton tonight. A little unlucky to give up a run last inning but the placement on the slider/fastball is pretty good tonight.

Yep. The change is good. The cut-fastball is really good. The slider is really good. Hes got three plus pitches. Shore up the command on them a bit and he's going to be very good.
