The Office Boomer GIF by MOODMAN

For the record, statos is not a boomer. He just thinks players should play a certain way and if they waiver from what he considers how a player should act he will suggest that player disrespected the game. I, on the other hand, am a boomer, and I felt PCA ran out of the box. The lesson that should be learned here is not all boomers are the ones that yell “get of my lawn”. And not everyone who yells “get off my lawn” is a boomer.

You mean we can't generalize an entire generation? A generation that contained members some of which corrupted corporate America beyond recognition and others burned their draft cards and performed sit-ins to stand up for equal rights? Its irresponsible you say? Obnoxiously silly you say?

Sorry, I felt the absence of a certain someone as I read your post. I poked a bear no longer there. *sigh*

The boomer thing was meant as a joke, As a Gen Xer I found myself yelling at hoodlums to get off my lawn from time to time in recent years.

PCA should have beat out that bobbled grounder, would have if he ran out of the box.  He's too young and fast to not be running balls out.  This isn't the first time lately he's done that either.  Somebody teach these kids how to play ball FFS.

He didn't run out of the box, it's on video.  Twitchy 23 year olds with energy for days running out their groundballs in a tie game with a day off tomorrow is now "get off my lawn"?  It's called winning.

Normally PCA is all-in on effort so I applaud him for that usually.  But I've seen him start to do this this season and it's cost him 2 or 3 bases already.  If the Cubs are up 6 it's not a big deal.

Don't know where to put this so, I guess I'll put it here:  MLB Network - their idolization and worship at the altar of the Dodgers is disgusting.

I just went back and watched the play because I was curious and the complaint is even more silly than I realized.  He absolutely ran it out.

I watched it back when i saw it.  You're wrong, he didn't run out of the box.  He turned on the jets when he saw the bobble.

Just checked and it was a sub 4 second home to first time lol

Who cares?  He very likely would have been safe if he ran out of the box.

Lesson learned:  don't criticize Golden Boy.

I got the same grief on PSD forum when I ragged on Baez and Conteras for not running out plays that dropped in during a freaking playoff game that they lost.

Same grief ragging on Baez when he admitted to "using the game to warm up" during 2018.

Same grief for ragging on Maddon when he didn't hold any of them accountable even after Theo criticized Maddon for the exact same & eventually canned him for it.

These types of players are emotional so I get it but you still gotta run it out when it counts.  I'm also sure Counsell has likely mentioned it to him.

Done commenting on it.  You either get it or you don't.

What a perfect lesson for you to not learn. Thanks for not disappointing

In May, Justin Turner is hitting 109 wRC+ with .280 AVG and .367 OBP (30 PA).

Carson Kelly with a 80 wRC+ and Amaya is 153 in May

Shaw hitting .455 AVG with 727 SLG and 242 wRC+ since recalled (12 PA).

It’s not even the worst thing that’s ever happened out on a Baseball field. Yasiel Puig would lick his own bat (no, that’s not a sexual thing).

If PCA learns to quit taking failure out on his bat, he'll become the greatest player in baseball history and the the true definition of perfection.

Hell, he's even let Happ catch some balls in Left/Center since Happ got mad at him.

You are looking for something that isn't really a thing.  Whataboutism doesn't prove your point

And take a walk. At some point his slug will slump and he'll have to OBP his way to value for a couple weeks. But with that defense...I can wait a couple weeks for the slug to come back.
