I'm guessing the catch probability on that double was not exceptionally low but hard to tell on TV

Id like to see a replay.  Looked catchable.

Don't know why he just didn't go with 100+ plus to Hill and say here hit it, just a terrible call for a slider.  The only pitch that clown could handle.

I have zero faith in this pen to close out a 1-run game.

And there it is.

Baseball is dumb

Throw a single strike to a #9 hitter with a 500 OPS.

0-2 2 outs no one on and he throws a hanging slider over the heart of the plate to the 8th place hitter and then walks the 9th hitter on 4 pitches. Unreal

Wish Nico would’ve gotten a hit with runners on 2nd and 3rd to give a little cushion but hey…

I wish Ben Brown hadn't given up 6 runs, but here we are

Hard to trust him at this point either

But I mean Palencia pitched Friday, Saturday and warmed up Sunday. Seems like a weird time to try him out to close a 1 run game.

that said it was 6-7-8 in the order and he was 1 strike from shutting them down in order.

bottom line is there are no easy answers when you don’t have reliable bullpen guys.

He no intention of swinging either, had Palencia manage to throw strikes the Cubs would have won.

does tucker get bad reads on balls hit to him? not the first time where he looks like he's got horsefeathers in his pants while fielding fly balls.

I guess the no doubles defense is a thing of the past.

It;s a funny game, with 2 outs I'm thinking "Wow, maybe they've found the closer for the next 3 or 4 years"  SO maybe it's my fault.  ....and he could still turn out, obviously.

This was definitely a case of beating yourself.
