Yep, I turned it off after the 8th.

I darn near did as well, I was pretty disgusted with the lack of hitting.  Glad I stuck it out, happy for Turner.  There is not Cub I want to see struggle and I will always rather be wrong in my opinion if it means any Cub player does well.  He was the last player I wanted to see at the plate there and he proved me wrong, and I was happy to be proven so.

I learned a cool feature with Marquee's app. I paused the game after the first pitch because I had a damn HOA meeting to attend, I didn't want to leave my tv on with the screen frozen, so I turned it off. When I turned it back on, it was still in the pause mode, so I didn't miss a single pitch. What I do hate is their fast forward only moves a few frames at a time.

There’s not different fast forward speeds, just one?

I honestly thought the 8th was the 9th. I was busy putting the kids down and thought that was it lmao. I was like holy horsefeathers they completely folded, those ABs were awful. Then my dad blew me up and I swear I thought he was texting about a dream he had at first when he said Turner walked it off.

There isn't really a fast forward. There is a frame skip, which skips about 20-45 seconds per frame. I have to push the fast forward button about 5 or 6 times to get to the next inning. Weird. I will say this is on an Amazon Fire Stick. Haven't tried it on one of my smart tv's that actually has the Marquee app.

First game and all but, Big Mo will have to learn to be more selective at the plate. He's got such great bat-to-ball skills that he can hit anything, they will exploit that.

I remember Hosmer having similar surprising RISP numbers early in 2023.  Hey, I'm pulling for Turner to be solid contributor for us - the guys seem to love him so I hope he can build on this and be the player we need him to be.  Nothing would make me happier.

Yeah I mean, honestly I was mostly trying to stir the pot last night with that. He's been bad, the 14% walk rate is pretty much the only thing one can point to as evidence he's still giving competitive ABs. Big picture, it's May 14th, we're not even 20% into a year and talking about a part time player. The sample sizes are just very small.

I agree with your basic point. But we are actually more than 25% done with the regular season.

Busch was working out at 3B before yesterday’s game

That's unpossible. Infathomable. Inconscionable
